Moving a TiVo

I'm new to TiVos and I have a few questions about moving one. I'm going on a two week vacation next month and I'd like to take the TiVo with me. Will the TiVo continue to allow me to play recordings even if it can't dial out each night? If I allow it to download the guide data from my vacation location, will this erase my previous recording settings, season passes, wish lists, etc.?
Thanks,
Steve Smith

If you're only going for a couple of weeks, then you have enough Guide data already and won't need to dial in again until you get back.
If you do dial in, the TiVo won't know you've moved it and will download the Guide data that's appropriate for your home setup.
If you're receiving UHF transmissions or cable TV, the channel numbers might be different (presumably the satellite numbers are the same). You can either program manual timed recording or repeat Guided Setup for your new location.
You recordings and WL's will not be affected by any changes you make to the TiVoes setup. If you repeat Guided Setup, you will (I think) lose SPs for any channels that aren't in the new line-up, but SP's for channels that merely change number should be OK.

You'll be able to play recordings no problem, dialing out or not.
You'll also be able to call in to get guide data, but it will get data for your home location, which may or may not be relevant to your travel location. Also, if you leave the settings as they are now, it'll dial the number local to your home location, which may not be local to your travel location.
You can re-do guided setup once you're situated in the travel location and then record programs as normal, but you'll have to re-do it again once you get home.
Won't it be nice when TiVo To Go arrives (if it's as easy and straightforward as I HOPE it will be), then you can just dump programs to a DVD and take the DVD with you and watch it on a laptop, or normal DVD player.
Edit: Doh!, Robert S beat me to the punch.
We both said essentially the same thing, but in
different ways.
