Strange Display after upgrade
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

After upgrading the TiVO (carried out using mfstools2.0 and restoring from the backup image resizing as neccessary) everything appears to work correctly except am getting an odd effect in the display of the search screen.
I select the search screen and the TiVO attempts to switch page but halts at a blank (blue) screen, if I then select the right button on the remote an incomplete search page appears.
The blue screen appears with the TiVO symbol and all the characters in the main part of the screen appear in white but the black line with the white border where the selected characters appear is not displayed at all.
Any selected characters appear correctly and the search list updates correctly.
I tried putting the old drive back into the machine and moving to the same screen the display was correct and all worked ok!!
Has anyone seen this effect before or is it unique to me!!
FYI my TiVO is the Thompson Scenic PVR10UK with 2X 160MB Samsung Drives running Version 2.5.5 of the TiVO software.

Sounds like you missed one of the parameters for the backup. Check Hinsdale for the specific backup command needed for UK images.

I seem to remember that missing out the '-l 32' parameter will do this.

Thanks for the replies guys. Have checked the Hinsdale as suggested and "iankb" you are right I missed out the "-l 32" parm on the backup Was using the O'Rielly "TiVO Hacks" book as my guide (maybe someone should email them with the correction). Oh well, will have to do the upgrade again!!
Good job I have the original TiVO disk stored away for safe keeping. Just in case!!
Unfortunately, as I work away from home this little job will have to wait for two weeks!!
