Cachecard config problem

I've recently installed a cachecard in my UK series 1 and have been having problems with daily calls ever since. The problem is that I run nic_config_tivo and set the daily call option to dialup. I then use option 0 to Apply and Exit. A message then tells me to reboot so I do and I find that the daily call option has reverted back to network. Am I missing something?
