I just upgraded my tivo tcd140060 with a bigger drive and noticed that the hard drive that I was replacing was a western digital 60gb with jumper set to cable select.
I was wondering if anyone knew if this was normal?
there is a june 2002 stamp on the drive, I'm wondering if this was a refurb gone bad, which is why I could never get the darn thing to go past guided setup?

Finding a hard drive out of your tivo set to "cable select" is pretty common. I would not worry about it. You can set it to master and it will work the same.

Well the hard drive was bad or corrupted or something because when I upgraded it works
went through guided setup with network!
what a breeze
