Why, oh why, of why must Jack continue to trust Nina?!?!?!?!?!

Posted by: JadeWolf07

I knew there was something about that baby, otherwise they wouldn't be talking about her every 3 minutes ;)

I called that!

Of course the only one that knew it is my GF, but still:p

Will someone kill her already (and it better be Jack and it better be ugly)!

Posted by: DancnDude

OK this week I have to admit the killing of Milligan surprised me. I bet Sherry is in over her head now since Julie doesn't seem very confident about executing the plan.

Note to self: to kill a virus, recursively change file permissions to 577. Giving the world full access to a filesystem is sure to make things better

I'm off to "close my socket."

I was wondering if that was an actual term... Not being an information security expert, I wasn't sure. Sounded like typical made-up "24"-speak. I'll talk to you later after I refresh my hard drives...

I was laughing at them dealing with that virus. How exactly did Jack dial-in to a top-secret secure network anyway? A sat-phone, is still a phone after all. Or am I mistaken.

Wouldn't it be simpler just to send an email with an infected attachment to Kim?

Anyone else notice the smile on Jack's face at the end of the episode? I think that its the first time we've seen that in the past 3 seasons.

Posted by: Talon

I still enjoy the show.

Yes! And didn't that smile seem to make Nina very nervous? LOL

That smile was so unlike Jack that it really creeped me out. Good to see him smile about something, though. About time he gets some good news.

Nina should be dead by now. She's dealing with some of the most dangerous people on the planet and everytime she gets caught she rats everyone out to save her own skin. How can this not catch up to her? Not only do her employers not kill her, they hire her to do an even more dangerous job!! Crazy!

I really enjoyed this episode. Even though the whole "virus battle" was completely unbelievable, the tension was good and I love the interaction between Jack and Nina. You know he wants to kill her more than anything but he has to overcome those emotions for the good of the mission. Good stuff.

Also liked the speech he gave Chance. It's a rough life being a CTU agent.

I had a mental image of Jack shoving Nina out of the plane - before it landed.

You guys are making me laugh coffee through my nose.

Bob

My wife wonders why I say stuff to my TV.. The phone/virus thing was too much, and then the terms they use just make me laugh (since i'm in information security)..

At least the file permissions part sounded right, but they said "group permissions to 577" .. in fact, that changes the permissions for owner, group, and "other"... but it was close :)

(besides, who would give the owner only a "5" which is Read/Execute, but give group and others a "7" which is Read/Write/Execute?)

Posted by: devdogaz

I felt the whole sub-plot with Sherry was ridiculous. Everything about it was completely unbelievable. She tells Julia to turn off the cameras. She goes into Milliken's room to get the phone. She yells Milliken to death. She body blocks Julia from helping her husband. She assumes Julia is calloused enough to go through with this plan, despite the fact that Julia seemed scared stiff and obviously didn't agree with what Sherry did. Sherry is dumb enough to think that no one will find out she was there.

Other than that, I liked the episode.

Posted by: lordargent

Milliken went down way too easy, and now, the whole Milliken war that I was imagining will not come about. Now it will just be a whole coverup type story where Julias (the big bad for you angel fans) greed fights against her feelings. I could really do without it.

What I wanted was to see Sherry digging up all sorts of dirt and Millikens folks countering it.

"Yeah sure, I ran over a girl, but you tried to bring a nuclear-f******-weapon onto united states soil."

Eventually, it would culmunate with brother palmer sleeping with her again. Milliken discovering it, and being so ticked that he kills her and seriously wounds brother palmer.

Damn, I should be writing stories instead of writing code :)

The whole virus thing was a bit much, but a heck of a lot more interesting then watching Jack and Nina glare at each other in the belly of a C-17 for an hour.

Gee (he said, dripping with irony), I wonder if Millikens wife turned off the security cameras. Sure wouldnt want any pictures of Sherrys' car at the house...

I thought it was going to be Jacks baby!

So did I and then I was trying to figure out the timeline to see if it would have been possible to have a kid with the Salazar's chick, but I guess it would have been difficult to hide, so I dismissed it.

Posted by: Frank_M

The mother of the baby is Nina! Or maybe Chloe!... or Chappelle!

Am I the only one that thinks Kim is going to be the one to cap Nina?

Posted by: Maurice

If any one still has a copy of the 2/10/04 show, I accidentally deleted it. I would appreciate if anyone could make me a VHS or DVD copy - I will of course reimburse any media cost and mailing. Thanks

Maurice

Nope - Check out aintitcool.com

That virus battle thing was great! I think they based it on how somebody would try to direct a crew trying to stop a runaway nuclear power plant about to go critical. I had to really ignore the double-speak.

Excuse me I have to dismount my disk drive.

Wow that's a horrible site.

Care to be a little more specific as to what info is over there (w/ spoiler tags, perhaps)?

Posted by: cheerdude

Its not that bad of a site ! Then again, the spoilers had been moved off the main page.

For those who just want "the good stuff"

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Next week, Nina gets punched AGAIN ... this time, from Kim! Later, Nina gets shot by Jack and dies.

Man, it seemed the whole Nina/Jack virus story was just a big waste of time, and didn't move the story forward at all. Could have skipped it and no loss. I guess they had to waste time while flying back to LA.

For some reason, when Jack was giving Chase the story about how the mission is most important, I had a strong feeling that Jack is going to die this season, likely at Chase's hand in order to save the general LA populace from the virus.

And while I enjoyed the Milliken death twist, I don't understand why they need the coverup. They got in a fight. He had a heart attack. Can you go to jail for that? Sure, they kep his pills from him, but they could more easily cover that up (we couldn't find them in time!) then this whole "Sherry was never there, Julia was napping" cover story.

Still waiting for the President storyline to be relevant, and losing hope!

But with a presidential election coming up, Sheri knows that an investigation might not prove too benificial to the President. Plus, She did withhold the pills, which probably at the very least could be considered man slaughter.

Posted by: allan

One question in my mind is, was it premeditated? Did Sherry go there with the intention of killing Milliken? Or was it accidental (until withholding his meds)? Either way, Sherry's an idiot.

Zzzz... What?! Oh, was there an episode of "24" on this week? I think I heard some buzzing sound and saw some flickering out of the corner of my eye, but that surely wasn't a TV show... Was it?

My god. I can't take this program any longer. I thought, just maybe, after last week's action that I could stand to continue to watch "24" (despite the knowledge that no black-ops should so desperately NEED to be in continous contact with a civilian agency during an actual mission), but I think this week seals it.

If CTU Los Angeles were really the only thing keeping the United States safe, I think we'd all be dead 25 times over by now. So, I think it's time to delete the SP and finally have a conflict-free "Scrubs" SP instead. Sorry "24"... catch you on F/X.

Sherry Palmer is baaad! She killed a dude with her voice. Shaolin monks can't even do that.

I figured that Chase was the father. There was no other reason to have Kim involved in that subplot. I hope they do it right and make Chase a deadbeat dad of Shawn Kemp proportions with about six kids by five different women.

Posted by: allan

Just before Chloe spiiled the beans, I was mulling in my mind, Jack or Chase. I was sure it was one of them.

It doesn't matter. Somebody was watching her through the bushes as she arrived at the house.

Those of us men who are married certainly can confirm that this is indeed possible! :D

Maybe they meant to set the umask to 577, but that got dropped in a revision as they felt "you-mask" was too confusing.

"I was speaking in technical terms."
"Well, stop it! It's not fair to Kim."
