I'm sure WLS will post some sort of streaming video of the report after it airs--they usually do. And they have Ron Magers doing the report... very intersting.

Speaking of Ron Magers, his old partner, Carol Marin, at WMAQ (NBC5 Chicago) returns to NBC5 tonight as a special reports contributor. Both Magers and Marin left NBC5 in 1998 after the then station management decided to hire Jerry Springer as a news commentator. Marin went on to report for CBS' 60 Mintues II, 48 Hours, and had a short stint at anchoring the 10:00 news on Chicago's CBS2 while Magers succeeded John Drury as the primary news anchor at ABC7.

Overall, I think it was a good, non-TiVo knocking, accurate bit. It was about 4 minutes in length, talked about viewers being able to watch what they want, when they want. It had a couple who had 2 DirectTV boxes and someone from TiVo on it. It touched only briefly on the reporting of viewer habits, but did focus on the positives that the data TiVo provides with the possibility to "custom deliver" ads that a user might be interested in, instead of the same ad to all viewers.

As ydkj0022 pointed out, they provided a summary and clip. Here it is...

Heads up though.

Here's something funny. My sister wanted me to record something on PBS from 9-midnite tonite. And I normally call my girlfriend at 10pm, so I couldn't watch the TiVo segment live.

So what did I do? I taped it on the VCR. The same VCR that I haven't used to record live television since getting the TiVo over a year ago. So to time-shift a segment about TiVo, I used a VCR. How ironic is that?

:)
