Most Annoying Character(s)?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: digdug

Which character(s) on your favorite shows do you find most annoying? Do you think the show would be better off without them?

I'll nominate

'Danny' from King Of Queens - The show doesn't need him to be funny.

Posted by: Spire

Ed: Carol Vessey.

Posted by: mwhip

I'm with Her: Stevie, typical annoying sidekick. Her sister is quirky and strange and adds something plus she is kinda hot.

First an obvious choice:

24: Kim -- She could possibly enter the Hall of Fame in this category.

Another for me:

Boston Public -- Don't remember her name. Big black racist lady that wants to have a kid now. She really rubs me the wrong way.

The M.E. from CSI Miami.

Kim from 24

Posted by: LooseWiring

King of the Hill: Peggy Hill

She is the most annoying TV personality since Married with Children added the little brat Seven.

Posted by: David Platt

From Friends:

Ross, but only in the last three or four seasons.

Posted by: allan

24: Chloe! She's so bad, I've read speculation she was introduced to take the heat off Kim.

Posted by: kiljoy

Elizabeth Rohm on Law & Order. Made me think Angie Harmon was good...

Tony

Edit: Maybe Mayweather on Enterprise, too.

Posted by: devdogaz

I'll second the nomination for Ross on Friends. Always thought he was a total dweeb.

24: Kim and Chloe both need to go.

And this is probably just me but I have a problem telling characters apart on Without A Trace and CSI: Miami. Each of these shows has two non-descript guys with dark hair. I can never keep straight which one is which. They are not annoying but I could do without the confusion. Get rid of one of them on each show and it would make the show more interesting to me.

I'll second that one! The way she gets all loopy-eyed and talks to the vicitims ( post mortem) really creeps me out. I much prefer the sarcastic wit of the M.E. on CSI.

Monica Geller has gotten more annoying than Ross recently.

Anything by Andy Dick or Tom Green also.

well at least they are all about to disapear for good soon ...... Aniston is the only one who is going to have any sort of post friends career .... Schwimmer was cast as a dick in band of brothes and is just as annoying playing himself in 'curb'

Urkel - Family Matters...but that's a given.

I agree - Ross from Friends. Can't freakin' stand him!

Posted by: cello

Robb from Survivor Thailand!

Posted by: zsmooth

Marissa on the O.C.

I was going to nominate every character from every reality show... (except American Idol)

I second (third, fourth, whatever) the Kim from 24 vote.

I'd also rank up there Andrew from Buffy (and unfortunately now Angel) followed closely by Harmony from Buffy (and unfortunately now Angel).

Posted by: scottjf8

Oliver from The OC

Wow, you better stop watching reality shows, then! I don't think I could stand watching a show in which I found every character annoying...

Definitely Oliver from The O.C., followed by the lab tech on CSI who thinks he's better than everyone else, especially Greg. He's not a regular, and I can't think of his name, but he's played by the guy who was on Veronica's Closet (something Wallace? Wallace something?). A good actor, I just can't stand his character.

Wallace Langham. I normally like him, but he doesn't fit on CSI.

He was good on Larry Sanders...

I'd agree with all of the above. Marissa, the M.E. from CSI:Miami, Marla from Boston Public, Kim (but she plays a porn star in her new movie, so she gets an official pass!)

-smak-

Thankfully, he's done after tonight. They haulked him off to the nuthouse

Speaking of the O.C., what's the deal with Luke, Marisa's ex-boyfriend? He had a critical role in the early episodes...and integral member of the cast.... but is now relegated to the "dumb jock" thing.....

"Tell me sugar, what happened to you?"

She's even more annoying than David Caruso, but she isn't on screen nearly as much, thankfully. Easily the most annoying character on television, IMO. I frequently shout rude things at my TV when this woman comes on.

Gots to be Kim from 24. I agree with the HOF nomination and 1st ballot election.

Thinking about it more, I have another one ... not a "character" but I wish that Dick Button would retire from commentating for figure skating competitions. I know that he's a huge influence on the sport and all, but I just find him really grating. I prefer a commentator who can point out something new or unexpected, not someone whose every comment I can predict. Plus, he seems to have a thing for how cute some of the younger skaters are - I know it's probably innocent but I'd just rather not hear it. It doesn't belong.

Abby on ER is getting pretty annoying. Which is a shame, because she could be a really interesting character. Then again, ER in general is annoying me. I think I keep watching it because of sunk costs - I've watched it for so many years that I can't stop now. It's got to be near the end... right?

Paige on Trading Spaces. I have a feeling that she's pushed to be so annoying by the producers or directors, because they need to give her something to do. I'm sure that she can't be that annoying in real life. I often just ff through when she's on screen. I also find Kia annoying (sometimes ff through all her segments). I think because she is a terrible designer (in my opinion) who thinks that her stuff is brilliant. erg.

I actually like Danny on KOQ. Oh well, to each his own!

Mine would be Oliver

from Brady Bunch :D

Second Peggy Hill. Please just kill her off.

But the plots are SO good :)

Posted by: thelastvoice

David Caruso on CSI: Miami

Rob

Posted by: tiellv

Kirk on "The Gilmore Girls". Useless character IMO.

Posted by: ADG

The former ADA on L&O, SVU. They finally replaced her, but the new one isn't much better.

Posted by: Philosofy

The chemistry teacher from Joan of Arcadia.

Well, LeBlanc will have his own show. Kudrow has a good career going as a solid supporting player in a variety of movies. Schwimmer is more interested in directing anyway and has a development/directing deal in place with NBC after Friends is done. I think Perry will muddle along in movies for a while before eventually landing back on TV -- his brand of comedy works better on the small screen than on the big. Cox-Arquette is probably most at risk for becoming well-known simply because she's famous (and part of a Hollywood couple)... the last few seasons on Friends haven't been kind to her prospects, in my eyes.

Raymond's mother. Fine actress, but who needs to be reminded just how meddlesome parents can be? Raymond as a family comedy minus most of his family would be just fine.

And all the figure skating announcers in general, as well as most golfing announcers. I can't think of a more sanctimonius bunch of commentators...I was looking for a commentary, not self righteous judgements and the absolutely most critical remarks over the most trivial of actions. Would it hurt to say something good about everyone except the crowd pleasers and personal favorites?

[Putting soapbox away]

Ditto. This show had the potential to be the best show ever, but they killed it by putting this annoying, idiotic character and making her central to the plotline. Dumb move, producers.
