Judging Amy 2/9/04 Spoilers Welcome

Great show. I'm so glad they are moving on beyond Peter and Gillian's issues. I personally didn't like that story line. This show does seem to be about single parents of all kinds!
Cheech continues to shine, what a great addition to the cast. I just wonder how a strong personality like Maxine will fare in a relationship with a man that comes from such a traditionally male dominated culture.
I really laughed at myself when seeing Donna light up when looking at what I thought was a cowboy hunk. And it turned out to be bull riding! LOL
The two main stories last night, both essentially about kids making tough choices were thought provoking, and I thought well done. Well at least as good as you can do in a one hour comedy/drama.
Lastly, I enjoyed the last scene with Amy, David, Lauren, and Vincent was great!
Lauren: "It's too late!" LOL

Can anybody guess 'why' the Gillian/Peter marraige problems? Is she wanting to leave the show. I really like her.

I'll poke around, but don't put it past the writers that they simply wanted to create another single parent household.

I thought last night's ep was great.
I liked the previews for next week :0)
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
If Amy doesn't rip David's clothes off soon, I might jump into the TV and do it myself! That looked like a hot kiss!
I don't like how fast they dropped the Peter/Gillian storyline. I thought Gillian was a very grating character since she got pregnant and I won't miss her. But there are a lot of issues to be worked out, especially custody! A show that focuses on children so much sure has forgotten that Peter has two. I can only take so much of Lauren as it is, but to not show Peter ever seeing his children seems strange.
And speaking of children, Kyle was suprisingly absent this episode. I knew about a half hour beforehand that the chick he's sleeping with is pregnant. I've never liked her and I think Kyle can do better.
Spoiler question for future eps:
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
I heard a maybe rumor that Vincent may be coming back. Any truth to this? Watching the old episodes on TNT makes me miss him, and reminds me how much I disliked Carol!

I hadn't watched this show before getting TiVo, so I don't know all the ins and outs.
But I am really liking Tyne Daley and Cheech Marin! I'm turning in just to see if they are together. I would like to see this relationship blossom!
Smiles,
Holly

These are spoiler tagged for those who haven't seen all the previous scenes:

I like the gardener but I miss Jared! He was so fantastic and so right for Maxine. Requiem was the saddest episode of anything I've ever seen on TV. I like her developing relationship with Cheech but it actually pains me because I miss Jared...I can't imagine how the character must feel!

I can't believe we've seen the end of Peter's children. It's only been what, two episodes since the baptism when everything finally came out. Even in real life there could be quite a gap before he has real time with them. Unless Gillian would just give him time.
Don't count Ned and the baby out yet! I just think we're getting an opportunity to see Peter blossom just a bit.

After this episode, it looks like we're going to see that!
I think Cheech is going to be a better match for Maxine than Jared, but time will tell.

any episode without the annoying doctor is a plus.
I'm way too old to say this but Amy's kid is really looking good...

YES! A Judging Amy thread! I was wondering about this show. I just started getting into the old episodes on TNT (is it TNT?) and I am LOVING it. I have not really been able to get into the new episodes because Independent Lens is on at the same time but I think I will start to see some this coming week. So Jillian is leaving? I just saw the episode (today) where she "died" on the OR table after she gave birth. She is kind of grating on the nerves. WAYYYYYYY too wound up and tight in the you know where if you ask me.
What happened to Vincent (the son that was almost blown up by his friend)? Does Lilly stay?

I'm throwing in spoiler tags to be sure you really wanted to know.
Gillian: Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
She goes into a coma that lasts several months. I don't remember exactly how long. Everyone is ready to give up, except Peter. He loyally sticks by her, along with taking care of Ned, and the new baby. Eventually she revives. There is some angst because the problem may have been due to Dr. error. She has a terrible time adjusting to life after 'death'. Eventually, say within the last 3 episodes, she leaves Peter for another man.
Lilly:Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Gone on to a better position. However, there was a great moment between her and Kyle on the roof. The door was left open for a future between the two.
Vincent has been back once or twice.

by the way I JUST saw the pilot episode yesterday so I think I should be caught up by say end of march?
Posted by: Zevida
That's about right cptodd. And if you watch the episodes at 12:00 and 4:00, you'll catch up twice as fast :0)
Sure, they'll be some arching stories you might mix up, but overall Judging Amy is pretty easy to catch on to.
