I haven't seen it, and I'm getting HBO installed Friday, but I see it's 6 hours long. Is it worth TiVoing all six parts, or waiting for it to come out on DVD?

It's definately worth seeing!

I've still got all 6 hours on my TiVo waiting for me to clear enough time to watch at least half of it in one sitting.

I don't know. I have a really hard time digesting it. It has some great actors in it, no doubt. I can watch Sopranos for 4 hours straight but this one is a bit different.
I saw the first 2 of 3 hours on a Sunday. Could not bare to finish the 3rd hour.

OK, just to prevent another thread like last time--it has homosexual themes throughout. Some people were really pissed that the trailer didn't have some sort of warning...

I didn't see the other thread but, Doom1701, I understand what you mean.
I wouldn't say it has "homosexual themes". It is ENTIRELY about AID's and homosexuals. :D
I saw the previews and thought it was going to be about something different. Then I read a glowing review on a web site about it. So I knew going in it was about homosexuality and AIDS in the 80's.
I'm sure it's produced/directed well. I saw the first 2 and last hour of the series. Just could not make it through the middle.

Take it in 3 hour chunks. The story will draw you in. Excellent program.

No. 3 hour chunks are way too big. If you read my post I said that I tried that the first time. Barely made it through the first two hours.

I made my wishlist a little late. I only caught 3 episodes.
Is it going to be shown again any time soon?

I started this and enjoyed Pacino's performance of Ray Coen very much, but the length, the fantasy sequences and the death just got to me and I bailed out on it.

It's really well done. We're doing it in 1 1/2 hr segments, which works fine (although the natural breaks are at the hour marks. Two-hr segments might be better if you can stay up later than my husband!)
