For those who want to see The West Wing starting with the pilot, another chance starts 2/23 when Bravo rolls over from the end of last season to the Pilot.

Shouldf I? I never have watched it.

Sure! It's been some of the best writing on TV!

I think that I've seen just about every one on Bravo now - what was weird (and a bit distracting) was that Bravo would show one season-line during one time of the day... and a separate one later.
The episode that I haven't seen (has it run yet on Bravo?) is Sam's election one. I would assume that he won... since Rob Lowe did not come back on The West Wing.

I've watched up through the episode that Bravo aired Tuesday, and it hasn't happened yet. It seems just about to happen, so they probably aired it on Wednesday or Thursday.

For those interested, the second season CD set has just been announced and preorders are being taken (shipment in 3 months).

Yeah, I have a season pass for WW on Bravo so I'm watching the second season, the season with Sam's election, and the current season on Wed. nights.

Did they ever say if Sam either won or lost?

Fantastic news... So it starts up on 2/23 on Bravo...
What time? And how often do they run a "new" episode"?
I am reacting to someone who mentioned that Bravo sometimes runs multiple storylines at different times... Also, I am wondering if they run the same episode multiple times...
Thanks!

Yes to both. Bravo runs two sets (one currently at season 4, the other at season 2). Each set has two showings:
Set #1 (season 4 - about to roll over): 7pm and 11pm EST weekdays.
Set #2 (season 2): Noon and 11am the next day (weekdays). This gives you two back-to-back shows each day.
There is a mini-marathon tomorrow that covers a big chunk of season 4.
All of this comes from http://westwing.bewarne.com/extras/bravoschedule.html

I have to assume that Sam's election will be wrapped up either way this week, since we only have 3 more episodes left in season 4. Monday's is on at a weird time due to the marathon, I believe it's on at 11pm instead of 7pm (although I didn't realize they ran at 11pm also all the time). Finally, my SO and I can start clearing off the season 5 episodes that have been piling up on one of the Tivos. :)

Absolutely. Season 1 and 2 are some of the best TV ever produced. Like you, I had never watched it until Bravo picked them up, but it's TV at its' finest.

So with a 7/11pm repeat showing on a daily basis, I will need to go with a manual SP, right?... And each episode is shown in the guide as a "repeat" I am assuming... Seems obvious, but thought I'd just ask anyway...

It's smart enough to not record BOTH the 7 and 11 PM EST showings, but you'll need to manually go in once a week to have it not record the noon and 11 AM shows the next morning (which will be episodes from another season as mentioned above).
My TWW SP maintenance took about 3 minutes a week.

Absolutely. I had never watched it until Bravo started showing re-runs. I set up my Tivo to record them all. (I'm loving my second hard drive...)
I'm about 3/4 of the way through season 2 now, and I've found it to be a phenomenal, extremely well-written show.

Seasons 1-3 are some of the best TV drama ever.
Not only that, it's funny as hell sometimes.
While I like the drama of seasons 4 & 5, i miss the comedy a great deal (especially this year!)
Just take a typical season 2 or 3 episode and I miss that dialouge.

The first couple of seasons are my favorite TV ever. I would nominate Season 1 as the best ever except I couldn't stand Mandy. Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
With her never-explained disappearance for Season 2, this moved Season 2 ahead of Season 1 in my book, but only slightly.
The flashbacks showing how each of the characters came to work for the administration during the first two episodes of Season 2 are excellent.

Is it technically a spoiler if it's a syndicated show? Anyway...
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
They never explicitly say if Sam won or lost. Several indicators point to his loosing... being far behind in the polls when his staff is fired by the President was one. ("You're going to get creamed.") Toby and Sam in the bar in California was two (alluding that Sam would lose). When Will was made deputy whatchamcallit following the innauguration, Sam was to be elevated to a position in the counsel's office -- but I've always been unclear if the special election had taken place at that point or not. There's probably some math and VERY close episode watching we could do to figure out if the number of Democrats and Republicans in the House changed in the subsequent episodes, but it's probably not worth the trouble...
Frankly, I think they just wanted to forget Rob Lowe existed after the whole money falling out... :o

It hadn't, because the episode after the one where Will was appointed as the Deputy was The California 47th, where they went out to California and fired Sam's campaign managers, etc.

I thought it was the 2nd Inaugration episode when Will was officially appointed. It was right before the group made their entrance into the ballroom.
During that time, they mentioned something about the appointment was subject to Sam winning/losing the election.
