Best shows you don't watch

The least favorite show thread got me thinking. There are plenty of good shows out there that I don't watch. For whatever reason (mostly time), they aren't on my Season Pass list. For me:
24
The Simpsons
Alias

I second that 24. Recorded the first episode this season(not an SP) and never watched it...
Also West Wing is supposedly very good. Never watched a single episode.

I third 24. I really like the fast pace, but it would kill me to not see it for a week. I missed the entire first season, then rented it from Netflix. Over two weekends, I watched the entire season - now that was an intense experience.

I think I watch them all, thanks to two DTiVos. :)
Well, I've never seen Buffy, so I guess I missed one.
PS. The West Wing was good, but it's horrible now. Don't bother unless you can see the ones Aaron Sorkin was involved in. I finally couldn't take it anymore and killed my SP.

Ann - rent the Buffy DVD's if you have the time (and Netflix). ONLY rent the first five seasons though.
I second your assertion about The West Wing. The characters seem to have changed for the worse and their interactions are much less interesting. The same goes for the plotlines. Yikes. It's amazing how much worse that show is.

West Wing
Alias
ER (is it still popular?)
Everybody Loves Raymond
Buffy
Law and Order (after being a die hard fan for the first half dozen seasons)
Third Watch

Bravo has been re-running the first 4 seasons of The West Wing since last August, so if you want to catch up on it, now would be a good time. We are about to roll over season 4 on there, and season 1 will restart on 2/23.

I decided to see what the whole 24 craze was all about so I set up a SP to record it starting this season. I got 3 episodes in & cancelled the SP.
I don't know what the craze is, because I think the show sucks.

This season has been a little "eh" compared to the first two. I'd give the first and second season's a shot before passing judgement. They're starting to reach the limit of disbelief on "how many things can happen to this one guy?!"

West Wing
Any CSI
Any Law and Order
ER
As you can see, just not a big fan of cop shows or over-serious dramas.
Never got into the Buffy/Angel craze either. Probably because it was big before I had Tivo. I'd probably enjoy it but I just don't care to mess with it.

Like others have mentioned, West Wing and Everybody Loves Raymond. Not a particular aversion to either of those shows, just a matter of bandwidth. I can only sit still to watch TV so long in a given week and I already have shows scrolling off my now showing list as it is.

The shows I think of as being the "best" of what I don't watch are Law and Order (all of 'em), 24, Alias and NYPD. Even with a Tivo, life's too short to watch everything that's even half-way decent that's on the idiot box.

I've never seen an episode of Sex and the City which is odd because I'm head-over-heals for SJP, which is also odd 'cause she ain't much to look at.

Last season of 24 I had three or four episodes built up so I had a mini-marathon. Enjoyed it but hated the wait for next week's episode. So this year I've just been letting them build up. Haven't watched one yet.
So if someone would let me know when the season ends I'd appreciate it. :D

Just wait till there are 24 episodes on your NP list. Duh!
;)
Although +1 me for not seeing 24. I recorded the first episode last season, but never got around to watching it. I'm looking forward to lots of TV on DVD this summer from Netflix.

I'll tell you the best show you're not watching.
Everwood.
My wife got me hooked on this show and I really like it.

I've never watched a single episode of 24 yet...and I missed the entire Buffy series. I may need to rent Buffy and slowly catch up. I learned of Everwood in this forum last year and it's one of my favorite shows and I highly recommend that to those of you who are not watching it.

Every show mentioned so far... Except "Third Watch", I love that show (#1 SP).
Funny how we all "hate" the same thing.
