I thought this was a great episode. Last week was good, but not great, but I thought they really stepped it up. There were several times when I busted out laughing, like when Buster, both as a child and an adult, dropped to the ground and curled up. Also when he showed up at Marta's house with the Mexican band.
And who could forget Tobias giving George Michael "the talk" :D
I thought this episode had a lot of energy and the fight between GOB and Michael was so well done, filming behind the closed door was great, and they were so believable. Then Buster running after them trying to get them to punch him.
I think I'll go watch that again :0)
One thing I didn't like was that they spent a lot of time at the beginning going over what happened last week, this was almost a two-part episode. Other than that, great.
Oh, and GOB going down the middle of the street in the Segway was classic. To follow that up with Michael going down the street on "the stairs" was sheer brilliance.

Yah, I love the throwaway stuff that this show does. Driving the segway in the middle of the street...
They don't explain it, they don't refer to it, they just do it.

I agree, good episode. It felt almost like a season finale (which I don't think it is) with something of a wrapup of the Marta storyline and Tobias's nevernude phobia.

I watched several times when Tobias came to the breakfast table nude and GOB spit out the cereal he was eating. Funny!

You were so in tune with GOB driving the Segway down the middle of the street that you missed Michael in the airport stair truck.
Funny stuff.

its worth watching that scene over and over to see their reactions. I love tobias's wife. Great episode, i want maybe to move back in with george michael.

The funniest parts of the episode to me were GOB knowing 'brother' in every language but Spanish.

I saw it, but I was talking about the first time he was on the phone to Michael riding in his Segway.
That was the one I was mainly talking about.

"Uncle GOB, has aunt Lindsay ever been pregnant?"
"Oh yeah, dozens of times"

If they can keep up episodes like this, the series might have a shot in my eyes. I enjoy the show, but so often it seems like nothing but "Everybody screw over Michael". I loved the fact that they actually had some character development this time. Sure, Michael still didn't get the girl, but at least you saw growth in everyone.
Now hopefully they'll lay off the maybe Maybe/George Michael bit. That was getting a little creepy.

Buster curling up in a ball was classic. And Michael's reaction to Buster's question about what it would be like to do that now (after doing so as as a child)? "Well, you'd make a much bigger ball."
Love this show.

"Cameras are not allowed in the courtroom."
Classic. And this show continues to get a great eclectic group of guest stars, with Henry Winkler joining the fray for a while.
Odd question tho ... why does everyone write "GOB"? Did i miss an episode where they explain his name is spelled odd, and in all caps? I always assumed it was Job, like in the Bible.

GOB's name is really George Oscar Bluth, but he uses his initials and pronounces it "Jobe". It was initially uppercase when the show started, but I see Fox' web site for AD is now mixing it up, using GOB and Gob.
It was also a joke in the first couple of episodes that GOB/Gob got upset whenever anyone pronounced his name Gob (hard-G, like LOB). :)

GOB is short for George Oscar Bluth II
Edit...too slow and low information density to boot.

I deleted the episode, but isn't his name ("GOB") also in white lettering in the front of his Segway, like a nameplate?
"Am I in two-thirds of a hospital room?" :)

"we only have to do it for 6 minutes"
"10"
"couldn't get that cut down, huh?"

That part was great. They work the sitcom/"documentary" so well that when the judge said that looing directly at the camera & then had the camera right outside the door it made complete sense.
And Henry Winkler is hilarious. "I think I'm going to get off, I've got a great lawyer."

I loved last night's episode. I don't think I have ever had to instant replay so many times in one show. Much less a half hour show. My favorite comment of the night was definitely the one from Gob about Lindsey being pregnant.

Maybe the funniest line I've heard on a sitcom EVER. The writing on this show is pure genius. Damn I hope Scrubs and this show never end.

This was a excellent episode. I'm laughing all over agin just reading this thread as some of the funnier lines/scenes are brought up. We had to replay the scene with Tobias coming to the breakfast table nude. Classic. So many smart jokes in this show that are just spoken and not crammed in your face. For example, "Am I in 2/3 of a hospital room?" At the moment Gob spoke it, you had no idea what he was talking about, but in the next shot, you see he is still on the soap opera set, in a room with three walls and no ceiling. It's only on screen for a second or two. It's only funny if you put the two together. Most sitcoms have to deliver obvious, lowest-common-denominator jokes and then have a laughtrack to tell you what was supposed to be funny. This show (and Malcolm) are just matter of fact with their humor and usually the jokes are of a higher quality.
The camera actually going out of the room when the Judge said "no cameras in my courtroom" was a perfect example of how great this show is.

OT: You mentioned Malcolm, so I have to share my favorite line from the episode that was on just before this ep of AD. It was when Frances mooned the boys to show his scars and said "and only the middle one is functional!"
Two great shows back to back. Can't beat it.

AD is easily the best and funniest show that I am watching. I laugh out loud many times during every episode. Even if it doesn't get picked up for a second season, it's already cemented it's place as a TV classic. I'll be first in line for any DVD release.
I know the writing is excellent, but does anyone else think this show was perfectly cast? Who would have thought that former teen hearthrob Jason Bateman would deliver something like this?
I can't wait to see what happens when
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Julia Louis-Dreyfuss guests later in the season as a blind woman who has a relationship with Michael.
