What to do with a Sky Digibox?
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have the Sony VTX-S750U Sky Digibox, and as I don't have a Sky Sub, or even a Sky dish... I want to know what the best option, (or any option), of what to do with this box?!!
Without a Sky dish, am I right in thinking there's no way of picking up any channels? or is there any way of connecting an RF/aerial cable?

There are many (mostly crap!) FTA channels you can pick up without having to have a sub to Sky. You'll find, however, that they are mostly shopping and/or Infomercial channels :)

Without the dish - you'll not get any channels.

Well, yeah, but I assume that that came under the banner of "blindingly obvious" :D

Hi Steve,
My original digibox is extremely sluggish these days so I could do with an upgrade! How much do you want for it?

For a regular reader of these sort of forums who is maintaining a web info site, I thought it would be "blindingly obvious" that the BBC channels are now FTA for which you do not need a Sky subscription card.
Also that it was "reasonably obvious" that TCM was no longer FTA and requires a current Sky subscription and card.
Don't know where you fit in the ITV channels for which you do need a subscription card but don't need a current paid-for Sky subscription.
Perhaps you should give a higher priority to updating your web-site rather than making assumptions about what other people know - particularly when they were brave enough to 'admit' to not knowing if a Digibox could take a RF input. After all, some people would like the Sky+ box much more of it could take a RF input.

The info site I maintain is on the subject of Telewest. They are a cable company. I had forgotten about the ITV situation as I don't have satellite.
I will be updating the page shortly.
Incidently, I would have thought that if someone has a box for use with Sky, I think it is reasonable to assume that they *know* that a dish is required. It is the kind of information that one finds when one researches a subject before making a purchase.
How come he has a only got the digibox? However he aquired it, why was he not told what it was for, how to use it and what other equipment was required?

No, not really... I didn't buy it for Sky!! :o - I had read somewhere, that it could pick up "Free" channels, and somehow prejumed I didn't need a dish. - Not that the information said I did need a dish! Oh well. :o

That's just too easy :D I guess I was a sucker for a good, (bad) sale! - (however u see it)
Wish I hadn't bought it, which is why I'm selling it on, as I don't need it. :p
