Drive sizes/recording hrs. - Should I be worried?

OK,
Here is the quick and simple. Upgraded two "Series2" DTiVos. One is a DSR704, other DSR7000. Left in orignial A (40gb) added 160GB B. They are reporting 181 hrs. How is this possible if it should only see the 137gb. I have made no mods to make it see all 160 gb. I also upgraded another with two 160gb and got 283hrs. Again, I am puzzled. Can someone explain. Am I in for a supprise down the line. I just used the Hinsdale links to get Linux/TiVo boot CDs and followed the instructions to the T.
Thanks in advance,

If you did do an LBA-48 upgrade by mistake (I think you probably deserve some sort of prize if you did - until Lou spun his new upgrade CD it was a major pain setting up for that!), the TiVo will crash when it gets full. So, just don't delete anything and you'll know for sure in a few days. When the TiVo starts purging recordings, you'll know you're OK.

Oh no,
That's what I was afraid of.
So I guess that I have to manually create a 137GB partition. Then, do the backup/restore/mfsadd all still work the same. I don't think there are any specific instructions on the Hinsdale-how-to on that subject.
And I turned on suggestions on my 283 hr DSR704 and am now awaiting the fireworks.

Maybe I'm not following this... If you have 177 Gb (40 + 137), isn't that going to be about 180+ hours? The 137 Gb limit is per drive.

This is a DTiVo, so you get about .9 Hours per Gb.
If he has done an LBA-48 upgrade, I want to know how because it would have saved us a lot of pain if we'd known the trick!
