Replacing airnet with turbonet

I have two Tivo S1's with airnet cards currently installed. I finally wired my house and want to switch to turbonet cards. How do I "undo" the changes that the airnet installer made? I see the rc.net file has an if/fi block related to airnet... should I just remove that entirely? I don't want to break Tivo 3.0's native support for turbonet cards...

Also, the airnet installer looks like it disables initrd. Does that need to be re-enabled?

Thanks!!

Well, I switched to the TurboNET cards and this is what I tried:

1) First I commented out the "if insmod" and "fi" lines in rc.net. This left the export, mkdir, dhclient lines active. THIS DIDN'T WORK!
2) Second I renamed rc.net to something else. Afterall, TiVo series 3 is supposed to support TurboNET natively! THIS DIDN'T WORK!

What I ended up doing is using the TuboNET installation CD and it made an rc.net file that loaded the ax88796.o module. This worked fine.

My problem is that I don't know what the rc.net looks like on a TiVo 3.0 that has never had an AirNET card. For all I know it's supposed to try and load the ax88796.o module here.

So anyway...all I did to switch from AirNET to TurboNET is rename the rc.net file and use the nic_install program to recreate it for TurboNET. Works like a champ and now I can pull video off 10 times faster than before. :-)

Oh, one thing that was really weird is that both of my TurboNET cards have the same MAC address! I had to use the nic_install program to adjust the MAC on the second adapter. Are they all like this?!
