Hello all,
I have a problem with my DSR7000. I pulled out a dead 40 gig, got a image off the net for a HDVR2 an a new 200 gig. Things went well, the 7000 booted up just fine. I had to nuke and update for a while, but after all said and done, things looked wonderful. However, I should show 30 hours not 160. I know out of a 200 gig drive you should only get 160 hours with out any hacks, right? Thats about .9 hours a gig. I don't mind not getting the whole 200, it seems that work around is a bit ruff still. I just want to get 160 hour.
I didn't do any hacks, nor any funny stuff. I followed master Hinsdale's How-to. Everything is working good, I just can't get past 30 hours of recording? I'm sure I must have missed something very easy, but any help would be wonderful.
Thank you.

Your 200Gb drive will appear to be 137Gb.

And thank you for you time on this problem.

ONce you restore the image to the new drive you need to run mfsadd with the appropriat flags to expand to your new full sized drive or pair of drives. It's quick and easy.

Well how bad of shape am I now if I have everything set up and running? Do I need to start over?
And if I so, is it better to make a backup of my new image now, and start over?

Just hook the drives back up to the computer boot from you mfstools floppy or cd and run mfsadd. No harm no foul.

Yes, you're fine. Some people like to test their restored backup before they expand it with mfsadd.
