CBS just spoiled this week's Survivor twist

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Watching the Michigan hoops game on CBS, and they just had a quick promo for this week's (2/26/04) Survivor, and it gave the twist away!

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)

Probst said that the losing tribe of the challenge will be dissolved!

Has anyone seen this before?

Haven't seen that promo. I think that evey promo that goes out is straight from Burnett's okay, so you can always assume there's something fishy going on with promos.

Their promos on the weekend are much more revealing than the promos they show right after each episode. It doesn't really surprise me that they gave that away (and it's good to learn that I predicted this 'twist'). ;)

I think you can never really tell with these promos, though. Back in the Pearl Islands, they seemed to give it away that there would be returning members, the Outcasts, but at that time they implied that there would be 3 tribes. Whereas later it turned out, no, they were only bringing back 2 out of the outcasts to join the existing tribes and the rest were still out. So in this case, even when they seem to be giving away a twist, expect yet another twist on the twist. Maybe the losers will be absorbed into the existing remaining two tribes?

Yes. "Dissolved" probably wasn't the right word but I think that's what the OP meant.

That's what I think will happen also.

I did see this promo during Cold Case. I still think that anything Mark Burnett releases about this Survivor is suspect. Even though: (Info from spoiler boards here)
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
The boards pretty much uniformly say this next episode includes tribe merge of some sort or another.

How is that a twist?

Hell, the whole thing has been ruined on www.aintitcoolnews.com for weeks.

I figured they would have to do that because the tribes get too small for survival.

I accidentally caught it too - there was a promo at the end of a commercial break, and when I stopped the FF, it jumped back just far enough to catch the reveal of the twist. I'm not happy about this. I don't like spoilers at all! :(

Still don't see how this is a twist. This should have been expected...

Every Survivor commercial all week has been saying what the original OP said, so my guess is basically it is a scary way (at least in Moonves speak)to say 'merge'.

The CBS web promos said this late last week.

I'm just glad it's Thursday. :)

There must be more to it than what they are saying outright on the promos...

we'll see tonight.

why are people in a tivo group watching commercials??? :)

I saw this promo during Judging Amy. I caught a glimpse during my 30 second skips and went back, because I love Survivor. My wife didn't really pay attention and when I mentioned it last night, she went balistic that I spoiled it for her, cause she thought I was using extra info from TC...
