For those who are interested in getting into Buffy,
Amazon has them on sale for $120.
It's a great way to get started into the Buffyverse.

Damn you. Now I'm out $158 bucks (I picked up season 5 while I was at it!).

FYI:
For folks who can satisfy their fix by by watching the show from the beginning on broadcast, FX is starting Season One on February 26

Haven't they had this for a while?

Wow. I paid nearly that much for a SINGLE SEASON when I bought them from the UK.

This is the route I am taking to get introduced to the Buffy franchise...
How good a deal is this? Is this a once in a lifetime, "I can't believe it" bargain? Or is this a deal that makes its way around once in a while, and I will probably see it again some day?
I haven't watched a single episode yet, so I am not willing to buy four seasons of the show quite yet... Maybe, by the time I am ready, the entire collection will be made available for even cheaper ;)

I predict that by episode 1.7, you will be having twinges of regret. By 2.17, you will know that you have surely made an error. By 2.22, you will be on your way to the Amazon warehouse, where you will embarrass yourself by banging on the doors, begging them to take your money.
Save yourself the embarrassment. Just buy them now. :)

Far be it for me to point out that FX cuts scenes out of the repeats and the DVD's don't have these issues.... :D

I bought this set before Christmas, it was definitely the best price by far. I couldn't find anyone else selling all 4 seasons as one set, and no combined price beat the $120.

I just watched the entire series of Buffy for the first time on F/X (I haven't finished yet, but should on Wednesday).
Besides the musical, how much is cut out of each ep?

I guess you get what you pay for. :-(

Got mine with my tax refund last week, along with Season 5. Waiting impatiently for them to send 'em out to me, too!
(lousy Super Saver shipping)
The low-priced 4 pack has been around for a while (it's been in my Wish List at the $119.99 price since mid-November), but even so, it's a killer deal. Since the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th seasons usually run ~$40 even when they're on sale, $120 for the first 4 is a no brainer. :)
Has anyone ordered one of these recently and actually had time to look at them? Some of the Customer Reviews mention that the 5th disc in Season 3 might be misprinted, and I'm questioning the validity of that.

I got my S1-S4 boxed set about a month ago, and I've watched the whole thing and can tell you that all of the disks (including Disk 5 of Season 3) were fine. I suspect that there may have been a bad batch at one point in time - someone changed the pressing run of the machine without changing the labeler or something like that. I'm now down to the last two episodes of S5 - I can't decide whether to pre-order S6 or wait to see if there'll be a discount deal shortly after release (and whether I can wait).

I don't have a problem with season 3 discs, either.

I've had no problems with any of the S1-5 DVDs. The $120 deal is pretty good considering that I bought S2-5 for @$40 each from Costco shortly after each release date (IIRC, S1 sold for $20 or $30 because it was a shortened season - 12 episodes instead of the standard 22).

I got my S1-4 pack over the weekend, and can happily confirm that my Season 3 boxed set appears fine. :) The first thing I did after breaking the plastic wrap was pop in the fifth DVD of the third season, and all is well.
