Hi,

I followed the steps on Steve Jenkin's page, and I can't telnet to my TiVo. I took the hd out of the TiVo, and looked at it on my computer. The changes I made to rc.sysinit weren't there. It looked like the file had been replaced with one dated in 1970.

So I tried creating an rc.sysinit.author with the tnlited line in it, changed the permisions on the author file to be executable, and I still couldn't telnet to the TiVo.

Any ideas? I have a TiVo series 2, and the drive in the TiVo is a new drive I just imaged from the original smaller drive.

first, try doing search on this forum. you question has been answered a billion times.

Nevertheles, A series2 can't be hacked in the usual way. Do a google search for

sleepers iso

this will do all the series2 modifications for you and direct you to a message board more suitable for its dicussion.

Do you know where I can get the image for the Sleeper hacks? Google turned up discussion about the hacks, but I didn't find any links to download the image.
