Find posts by one user in particular thread?

I guess there's no way to do this, or at least I couldn't figure it out. I wanted to find only posts by a particular user in a single, very long thread. Searching the thread by user name brought up every post where his name was used or he was quoted, but none of his. Searching for some particular language in his sig yielded no results (guess it's not searched).

Is there any way to do this?

their is a third person plural possessive, e.g. "their cars are all blue"
there is a reference to a place, e.g. "the blue cars are over there"
