CSI: Miami 3/1/04 ~Spoilers~

This was an interesting episode. I wonder if that is true that counterfeiters use Iraqui money to make US money.

Why do I not buy that the Secret Service would just back off and not force themselves to be part of the investigation?

What exactly is the role of CSI officers in Miami? Is it supposed to be different than in Las Vegas? Horatio and the other dude were the first ones to catch up to the hijacker in the woods and both had their guns drawn. Isn't that the job of the police, not the crime lab?

The best part of this episode was the increased tension between Yelina and Horatio since Yelina now thinks that the little girl is Horatio's and obviously he doesn't want to tell her that the girl is the daughter of her dead ex.

In CSI: Miami the CSI team are technically police. As far as I know.

This new situation with Horatio and Yelina is straight out of the daytime soaps. Just plain stupid. She's a grownup, H. She can handle the truth. Geez.

And if Calleigh gets romantic with the Secret Service guy, the SP will go bye-bye.

I was enjoying it till they hit the GPS jamming zone. The GPS's position freezing when it hit the 'edge' of the zone doesn't really make sense, based on how a GPS receiver calculates it position.

Also, radio waves don't really have a stopping distance, if the jamming is sufficient to jam everything at 2 miles, it would be causing issues further away. (i.e. the signal would either start loosing lock on the weaker satellites signals, and degrading accuracy, or else start drifting. Depending on they type of jamming)

As originally scripted, one of the differences between CSI and CSI:Miami was that the CSIs in Las Vegas were civilian employees of the police department while in Miami they actually were police officers themselves. OTOH, they seem to have gotten a bit fuzzy on that in Las Vegas now, so (shrug).

I had gotten the impression that she knew who the woman and the little girl were and their relation to her ex but that she was now under the impression that Horatio was involved with her (in more than the "taking care of his brother's daughter" sense) and so is upset at losing two men to the same person. But your interpretation makes sense too so I dunno...
