Hi;

This forum seems to have a lot of people who know what they are talking about so I am hoping someone may be able to offer some advice...

I have upgraded a Thompson (UK, unmodded) Tivo to include a 2nd >130gig B (Maxtor) drive following hinsdale instructions.

On PC I mounted it as secondary Master with new drive as secondary slave. All instructions followed, all worked ok.

When put into Tivo it hangs on the Welcome screen.

I created boot disc (upgradeav3.2) and ran mad/edit_bootparms hdd -i.

Same issue.

Is there something I'm missing...? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I restored my HDVR yestderday and had the same problem. I opened the box and changed the drive jumpers and it worked. Not sure if it will work for you, but worth a try.

Thanks but what did you change your jumpers to?

I left the A drive as master and the B drive has always been a slave (albeit a secondary slace).

Sound ok?

Found the problem, the CS jumper on the new drive.

Guess the cable used by the Tivo doesn't set it.
