Add DirecTiVo drive to standalone?

I had a Philips DirecTV reciever with built-in TiVo. For various reasons, we have switched back to cable, but of course couldn't live without the TiVo, so I bought a new 80hr Series 2 standalone TiVo.

However, I've still got the DirecTiVo unit, which now has a hard drive sitting in it unused. So, I wonder: Can I take the drive out of that unit, and mount it in the new standalone as a second drive? Would I have to reformat it, or would it work as-is?

Anyone have any idea?

Just follow Hinsdale as usual. The drive might be locked, of course, but the fact that this drive has a different TiVo's software on it makes no difference to MFS Tools.

Do make a compressed backup so you can bring the Philips back to life if necessary.
