Help with new B drive!

My 120GB Maxtor B Drive on my Hughes series 2 was beginning to go, so I went out and bought a new 120 GB Seagate, thinking I could replace it. I followed Hinsdale's instructions on how to copy the drive but when it got to the end, turns out the original B drive was actually 121 GB and the new one was 120GB, so it said it didn't have enough space.

Stupid me, instead of quitting there and figuring out a plan B, I married the new B drive to my A drive, thinking something stupid like "it might still work". Well, of course I booted up the Hughes and it hangs at 'welcome, powering up', then continually reboots.

What can I do- I have no backup? Do I have to start from scratch? If so, where do I go?

Thanks in advance.

Does it work with the old B drive? If it does, make a compressed backup from that pair.

Nope, doesn't boot using the old B drive now either. Wouldn't that be because I married the new one to the original a?
