gunlock on existing TiVo drive?

I'm doing an upgrade of a dual drive system to a larger dual drive system. After I boot into the mfstools boot floppy, it tells me that the existing TiVo B drive is 10mb. I didn't think that I would need to gunlock an existing drive. I figured that only the new drives would need unlocking. I won't harm anything if I unlock this existing TiVo B drive before upgrading to the new drives, will it?

One thing I forgot to mention is that this TiVo was previously upgraded. The Existing B used to be the existing A on my Sony SVR-2000.

Definitely factory drives can be locked in TiVos - in fact, those are the ones that are the most commonly locked.
