My HD died, and I can not make a backup. How do I create a new HD with the operating system. Where can I get the OS and what ever else I might ned to do this.

Tivo disk images are getting hard to find. Try posting back here with a subject line like "Request Image File for XXXX" where XXXX is your Tivo's make and model number. Hopefully someone here can help you out.

Also, review Hinsdale's post anchored at the top of this forum. It gives you all the background information you need to download the needed Linux tools and exactly what process you'll need to go through.

If this looks to hard you can always buy a pre-imaged disk from the sources here, like 9th Tee or Weaknees.
