Speaking of Kingdom Hospital...

Anyone watching this quirky show? Whats up with the giant ant eater/sloth thing? Is he some sort of ectoplasmic gatekeeper?
I do find the concept of the show intriguing... the acting is ok... Diane Ladd is quite good as Elenor Druse... It reminds me of that short lived show they had on UPN about a haunted hospital....

I'm watching it too. There's not really much competition right now as we just finished February sweeps.
The second episode was better than the first, and focused on some characters beyond the author. It's still SLOOOOWWWW. Stephen King apparently commented on it (I think to email subscribers at his website) that it's "like a novel....there's the payoff at the end."
But most of his novels don't start off this slow.... Hmmmm...

I almost started a thread today to comment how the lack of a thread meant that the show was a huge flop. If people love or hate you... there is hope, but when nobody is talking that's bad especially for a Steven King quirky type of show which is usually this forum's favorite.
Second offering was much better than the first, but I think all hope of success died with that horrible two hour opener.

Yeah, I was so disinterested in every character I gave it up. Maybe the adaption is true to the book, but if the book was that off the wall than I will pass on it too.

After the first show. It got mixed reviews about 50/50. I personally like the creepiness and weird characters. I find King's stuff either boring or engaging, he hit the right cord with me on this one.

It's not from a book, it's an adaptation of an amazing Danish miniseries by Lars von Trier. And it's not a very good adaptation...
The original is 6 hours long I believe...this is 12 or so, right? Definitely slows everything down.
And what the heck is up with all the commercials?! Seems like they are squeezing in an extra break or two compared to normal. It seemed like about 8 minutes of show, then 5 minutes of commercials. Which seems more than average...but then I don't watch that channel that much. Maybe that's just compensation for the 6-12 hour stretch I mentioned above.

The original was two minis, totalling over nine hours wihtout commercials. So it's not actually that much of a stretch...

Slow, did you say slow, sorry I must have fallen asleep. Good thing I can pause tivo.

The originals were great. I'm holding hope that this version will live up to their quality a bit more.
