Second audio failure and 2nd GSOD

I installed a second 120GB drive in my stand-alone Tivo 2 months ago. Everything has been great until this weekend.

Saturday I suddenly noticed that the sound was intermittent, all messed up. All recordings (old and new) were like this as well as live tv. I unplugged Tivo and waiting a couple of minutes then replugged in and met my first Green Screen Of Death. Not a happy sight. However, within 20 minutes it fixed itself and rebooted and all was well.

Sunday, after heavy usage, the sound intermittent issue came back. I unplugged, waited, replugged back in and received my 2nd GSOD. It seems to have repaired itself again and is currently fine but I expect more of these now.

I installed 2nd drive using the Hinsdale MFS Tools 2.0 release.

It's a Tivo Model TCD24008A.

What are people's suspicions?:(

Is it only the audio that's messed up? No video glitches or freezes?

This doesn't sound like the typical hard drive failure symptoms. Although the GSOD is Tivo's way of trying to repair a corrupt file system.

Just curious .... what are your Tivo's internal temperatures running? Maybe something is overheating.

No video glitches.

I installed the Twinbreeze Complete with PowerTrip which has the Advanced Cooling Pak so I don't think it's a heat issue. And I left the original fan in which cools better than the Twinbreeze quiet replacement fan. So there are two fans in there now, one right next to the hard drives.

Could it be a swap file issue?

help! Anyone?!? :(

Well it just happened again tonight after 2 months of no problems. Bad audio. Tried a soft reboot through menu, no change. Did a hard reboot and system kept rebooting. Unplugged Tivo, waited 1 hour and started up again. GSOD this time, 5 minutes to fix problem, then success.

15 minutes of viewing later, bad audio again.

My suspicions are:

1/ heat? It's a hot day in our area and indoor temperature was 80 degrees. Inside Tivo it was 34 but it usually runs in the 20's. I have the Advanced Cooling Pak from Twinbreeze so there are TWO fans in there. I even just now opened the box to make sure both fans are working.

2/ swap file issue?

3/ hard drive failure?

HELP!!!
