Crossing Jordan 3/12? Spoilers Ok

Not a big fan base here, but just in case...

I delayed watching until this morning, along with The Practice, and Alias.

Perhaps because of the competition, I'm left with kind of a ho hum about CJ.

A couple of little twists, wrong priest, and dishonest mortician (big shocker there), and the 5 time widow maker gave up much too easily at the end.

Thought for a second Woody and Jordan would finally arrive at something, but other than a little comedic relief for us...

Lily was there again, and she looks a little plump. Are there two pregnancy's ongoing?

I've never watched Crossing Jordan in previous years or in re-runs, but thought I'd start up with this season. So I don't yet know all the characters and dynamics.

So in the two I've watched so far (3/7 and 3/12), it seems like Jordan is kind of a stick-her-nose-in-things character that usually turns out to be right? And she seems to be able to con the two morgue/lab guys into helping her, and Miguel Ferraro as her boss wants her to stay out of things that aren't her business, but usually backs her up when she's up against the wall because she is usually right?

In any event, keeping in mind that I'm new to the show, it did seem to me like that one ex-cop juror gave in all of a sudden at the end. But I'm also not sure why the other jurors were giving Jordan such a hard time, didn't they know she was an M.E. and would have knowledge of forensic things like trajectory of bullet entries and so forth? Doesn't automatically make her RIGHT, but I'd think it would lead her some definitely credibility but they acted at first like she didn't and couldn't know what she was talking about.

Which one is Woody, one of the morgue/lab cohorts or the cop (or someone else)?

I'll give it a few more eps, but it doesn't really grab me right away. That said, I'm a sucker for reasonably well done cop-type shows (although I dislike the original L&O but do watch the other 2), so I may stick with it all the way through this shorter season.

Not sure that answered any of your thoughts, Rcrew, but thought I'd at least add to your thread! :D

You have the premise down pretty good, Tig. But this thread is about the ep that was on last night. You're talking about another one. Easy enough mistake to make, though. BTW, Woody is the boyish looking detective that is involved with Jordan, even if she isn't really involved with him.

Rcrew, I don't know if the Woody/Jordan thing was just comic releif. I think they're laying the groundwork for something in the future.

Regarding Lily, I've thought she's always looked a little plump.

Whoops, he said 3/12 in the subject line but I guess he meant 3/14! It kinda seemed to fit with the mortician comment, although I guess it was really a previous M.E. that messed up and was not necessarily dishonest in the 3/12 episode. Silly me! :p

I haven't watched last night's yet, had to watch Cold Case and Arrested Development and L&O:CI and then ran out of time. Guess I'll watch it tonight then maybe I can contribute intelligently to this thread! :D

I thought the 3/14 episode was a little ho-hum, however, I did think the 3/12 was pretty good. I've always enjoyed this show so I'm probably a little more inclined to be patient with a mediocre episode here and there.

There were some really great episodes last season and hopefully they're just getting off to a slow start.

Jordan and Woody definitely have something going. They did an episode last season out in Los Angeles, where Woody, who's a pure white-bread guy from Wisconsin, had to deal with the sneaky sophisticated Angelenos. Naturally, the farm boy whupped their butts. He and Jordan had a big kiss, but she's very skittish.

She's also mercurial, pigheaded, obsessed, and contemptuous of authority. Her mother was touched in the head, and Jordan always worries that she may be on the edge of the abyss herself. She isn't always right, so she's gone through a few jobs. Macy had fired her (before the show began) and this is her second and probably last chance. She may be the star, but Macy is the show's moral core.

I'm Graymalkin, and I approved this analysis.

Sorry about the date screw up. With episodes alternating between Fridays and Sundays, I blew it.

A little more background, Jordan was obsessed with her dead/missing mother, and chasing that was part of her failing in Macy's (her boss) eyes.

Last season was filled with an arc about Macy's potential replacement, a powerful woman Dr. that nearly took over. His love/hate relationship with the DA is interesting. The flirting he was doing this week with that new DA was interesting. He also 'almost' had a thing with Lily. I don't know if that's a done plot or not since he seems pretty focused on the DA.

Jordan and Woody will be interesting. She doesn't seem to need/want a guy, other than as a friend. He seems ready to date, but has liked her from day one.

I'm ready for some more story line for the 'new' Dr, so far all he's been doing is hauling bodies around, and working up cool graphics for Macy. That was kind of funny.

Ok, did I miss something or did they completely ignore the season finale from last season? At the season finale, Max (Jordan's father) is standing over the body of the police captain that had an affair with Jordan's mother years ago. This season starts with no mention of it, and last night, Max is behind the bar again. Did I miss an episode somewhere?

You are right! They just totally disregarded last season's finale. My wife is so mad she's considering not watching much longer if they don't address it soon.

On another note, I think the episodes the have shown so far this season were not filmed in the order they showed them. Jordan's face looked much rounder in the first episode than in last night's episode. Plus they spent more time hiding Jordan's belly behind things in the episodes before last night's.

I totally forgot the 'season' ending.

That must be what Jordan's and her father's current stand off is about.

I don't recall much, but I don't have the impression that he was guilty.
