First 10 Minutes of Dawn of the Dead on USA

Did anyone watch it? I thought it looked really good, but then again, I'm a sucker for a good zombie movie. I know they have a lot to live up to since the original is a zombie classic but it's looking really good so far!

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)

These zombies run!

From what I have heard/seen it isn't at all like the original and is just rippin off the name and "general" plot.

It has a different feel than the original. Rather than a sense of hopelessness that begins the original, this one starts out with everything normal, and then BAM run for your life! It kind of reminded me of 28 days. I just hope it doesn't suck like House of the Dead did.

I watched it. I agree that it has a different feel from the original, but from the first 10 minutes I have high hopes for it.

It's a remake, silly.

I saw the first terrifying 10 minutes and thought it looked retarded. Sarah Polley was gorgeous though. I'm always amazed at how high the production values are on these silly movies. That aerial car crash was cool. Bamm!

I thought it looked like a lot of fun. I'm very surprised they showed that on TV (even tho it's cable) - it was filled with a lot of disturbing images.

Although:

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
when her husband is chasing her car and veers off and attacks someone else, the scream heard is a sound byte that's been around forever. I had a wave file of it and one with it included in some brady bunch/marsha marsha marsha wave file as well as having heard it in one of the new spiderman cgi cartoons. Couldn't they have paid someone to scream?

I thought it looked good. Wish they explained/or explain how Polly's child got zombified.

Looks like it has potential. Though the mall scenes look like they will slow down the movie a LOT. I like the wide open chase feel. I would do a whole movie on that premise. RUN, rest, disturbed by zombies, RUN, repeat.

I will 100% go see this flick..

28 Days Later left me wanting a good modern zombie movie; I think this one looks good! The "horde of stumbling zombies" has its own kind of scariness, but I'm looking forward to the frenzied style, especially after the preview. The escape from the house and drive through town were top-shelf horror movie action!

The original is my favorite "__ of the Dead" movies; while gruesome it had some wit and a light theme about modern consumerism. Problem is it's so dated that much of that is lost. I like the casting I've seen, and I'm optimistic about this update.

Do you really consider the 28 Days later a zombie movie? Sure they have the minds of zombies but really they are just sick with the Rage virus. Heck, in the end they die from hunger.

I don't consier 28 Days Later a zombie movie but I did like it.

No not exactly, but it's in a similar enough vein that it whetted my appetite for this one. :)
