Not a bad episode but I felt like CBS was playing me for a fool. I mean, Gibbs and his team were totally lost as to what happened. But all of a sudden do a 200 meter search and they find ALL the evidence that brings the case to light....come on.

Also...when Gibbs is talking to Abby in the lab...they go SOOOOOO fast over all the tech stuff it's hard to comprehend it all. Slow down and explain things a little, I got tivo for a reason but all the rewinding is killin me.

And denozo(sp) starting out early looking dumb...with his question about what to do with the left over cereal. OYE.

It was late when I watched it, so I might not have been paying much attention. Who's calling card was it that had all the calls to that contractor? Wasn't it the dead guys? If he wasn't trying to hide his number, why would he use it? From the context of driving out there it didn't seem like it would be a long distance number. And why would he call it anyway when it was his section chief that was trying to get a job there?

Sometimes I think Bellasario tries too hard to lead us down the wrong path.

It was the dead guy's phone card that made the calls to the contractor. And they never did explain why the heck he'd be calling them (or alternatively why the heck he'd have the Sgt's phone card)

They just dropped that whole red herring without explanation. Just like they never explained why the dead guy was dumb enough to cash a 40,000 check rather than depositing it. (Why would he feel that inside a stereo speaker was a better place to keep it that in a bank?)

And they didn't explain why three of the '5 Amigos' had $30K+ cars.

Thinking back on it, this episode just piled on the misdirection, but didn't explain any of it.

One of my questions was:
How did he get around the Federal requirements for records of transactions exceeding $10,000. That form would have put them on the right track much sooner.

Back to rock-bottom for NCIS, following the relatively good terrorist/hostage episode.

Obviously, we're getting set up for Gibbs finding the terrorist... or being torn apart by being unable to ("Not again!").

One of the weaker shows for the series. They searched 200 yards and found additional clues.. right! The area they found the clues in couldn't have been for 200 ft from the skid marks, if it was even that far.

On the other hand I loved the Fetish discussion with Abby. It was fun to watch her face as she talked about them.
