Software Updating Problem on Hacked Box

Hi All-
I've been searching for awhile on the board for an answer and haven't been able to find one.
Here's my problem:
A week or so ago, my hard drive crashed. Instead of calling Tivo and getting a refurb box, I just wanted to get a new HD with more capacity. I ordered one from Hinsdale, dropped it in, and everything worked. The software loaded on my drive was 3.2.x. I miss having the wireless setup as well as the serial connection to the cable box. I've been trying for the last three days to get the software updated to the newest software. After many daily calls, my Tivo hasn't downloaded the newest software.
I have a standalone Tivo from Tivo. It was out of warranty when the drive crashed.
After calling support, they told me my box was hacked (no kidding, I put a new drive in) and that they don't support the box. She wouldn't tell me if the software would update or not since Tivo doesn't support hacked boxes.
Here's the question - Will Tivo update the software or am I stuck on 3.2 forever? It's been 3 days since I put the new harddrive in and nothing has downloaded.
Thanks!

I guess I'm not patient enough :)
I know this may be a question for future upgraders, so I'll leave it here and update it in a few days when the software upgrades.
Thanks all!

It's supposed to upgrade on the first call, but TiVo have been having some problems with this part of the service lately. Perhaps they've lashed up a way to detect when this is happening and correct it automatically?

Hello All-
We've hit the 5 day mark and still no software update. I'm giving it a few more days to see what's going to happen. Because there are no threads on this subject in here, I'm assuming this has not been a problem in the past with people upgrading. I'm hoping my call to Tivo support didn't screw up my ability to receive updates (I'm pretty sure it didn't since the service calls are still going through and I have a lifetime subscription on the box).
Thanks for the emails. Sorry I jumped the gun - I didn't realize it would take between 3-6 days to download the software. I figured that once the servers realized I was behind, they would automatically send it to me. I'm really surprised it takes 3-6 days to download. Any idea why it takes so long?
I miss having Tivo update through the network and switch channels through the serial connection instead of the unreliable IR.
Thanks all!

So when you said I guess I'm not patient enough, what did you mean? I thought you meant that your TiVo had upgraded?
If you PM TiVoOpMgr, he may be able to sort you out.
Don't call CS, you'll only confuse them.

Robert-
I had received a few emails from people after I posted telling me to wait a few days and it would update (3-6 normally, with 5 being the norm).
I tried forcing it again tonight and it is now pending restart (which I just did now), so I should be back up and running again.
So, for newbies who install new HDs in their system, it will take between 3-6 days for the software to update - it won't update on the first call.
Thanks!
