Connection question

I will be replacing an RCA DTC-100 with the new Directv/HD Tivo.
I presently connect the DTC-100 to a Mistubishi WT-46805 with a custom cable. HD monitor out, 20 pin (dtc-100) on one end going to a 5 BNC connection on the Mitsubishi TV.
What will be my my connection options with the new Hughes/Tivo box?
I don't think I will be able to use my present cable as the Hughes box does not have the same type of connector. Will I connect via a Component Video connection? Any other connection options available to me?
Anyone familiar with either of these components that can help me out?
Thanks

Component should work just fine - basically the same picture you have today.

The cable you mention is actually a 15-pin to RCA with RGBHV I believe. Most of the cables built to order when these sets came out had BNC connectors that you then put BNC/RCA adapters on. Some folks just had it pinned out straight to RCA.
Either way, you will no longer need this and it can/should go wherever you send your DTC-100 off to.
Instead you will now connect a standard Component cable from the -250 to the same RGB appearances on your Mits as you did before but leave the the two (H/V) sync spots empty. Just connect to the Y/Pr/Pb marked locations in the DTV "grid" on the back of your set.
Mits designed their sets for either option as HD Rcvrs were just coming out and it was unknown as to which standard they would use. RGBHV is used by many projector systems and was more prevalent at the time. But of course it made it confusing for some that started out using all five connections on the back of their set as we cannot fathom leaving a group of connections with two spots empty where you believe cables should go...:)
Oh, I just remembered; I think you also need to go into the Menu/Input screen and under the (DTV) input change the input to YPrPb instead of RGB. If I recall there are three settings (RGB/YPrPb/Off) for that menu. Check your manual to be sure but I believe this group of sets were all set up this way.
That is your only option for connecting the -250 for HD inputs but is also the best anyway.
Enjoy!
