Can anybody tell me the difference between the Samsung Spinpoint models.... Spinpoint P80 SP 1604N ... and Spinpoint P SP 1604N ??How do I tell which one I have There is only the SP 1604N on mine??

Please Help a newbie!!

There is probably no difference. OEMs occassionally modify portions of the model number to identifying drives they have made for a particular manufacturer. In other words, if Samsung had a large order from Compaq, they might alter the model number slightly to identify these drives more easily.

Overall, the 1604N is a good drive, I have one and its quiet and cool.
