Error on HDVR2 Upgrade
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm upgrading a hdvr2 from a 40 gig to a 120 gig maxtor. I'm following the Hinsdale instructions on copy from an existing a drive to a new a drive to preserve all recording. The command line I am using is:
mfsbackup -Tao -/dev/hdc | mfsrestore -s 127 -xzpi - /dev/hda
The backup starts. It quickly says I have about 230 megs (which sounds very low as the unit has at least 20 hours of programming on it). Then it tells me after the restore starts that:
Restore Failed Error Fixing Volume List
Any suggestions?
Thanks

There should be a space between - and /dev/hdc, but you'd have got an error from mfsbackup if you'd actually typed that.
I don't recall ever seeing that error message before.
You can do the upgrade by using dd to clone the drive, increase the size of your swap partition (see the 3rd post of the Fixes thread above) and then mfsadd to expand into the unused space.

That was a typo, but I'll look at dd. Thanks.
