Lost Service Number from OS
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I purchased a used Sony SVR-2000 unit that had been upgraded to 110 GB capacity. Everything worked fine initially and I made a tivo account on the tivo.com site and put in the service number on the back of the unit and the box.
Eventually, I started getting a message on the Tivo warning me that I had to purchase service. It was making daily calls but looking at the Tivo information when it is on, the service number is not displayed internally on the menu. When I called Tivo tech support, they informed me that a device with my service number had not been calling at all within the last few months. So, I'd been paying for Tivo service but I have no idea what service number the tivo has since it won't display it on the menu. Whatever it is, it is obviously not the one on the back of the unit (and the box).
I've looked at the listings for various tools and such but I see nothing that tells me where the service number is stored or how to read that data or overwrite it. I don't really care what the service number is on the unit as long as I can add it to Tivo.com on my account.
As it is right now, the unit now thinks it is without an account so it won't allow me to program the recording of programming or other functionality.
Short of building a completely new image on a new drive using InstantCake or something, what can I do? Can anyone help me here?

clear and delete might help. Just a guess tho.

What do you mean? Clear and delete of what?

I think a clear and delete will work. Here is another thread that is almost identical to your issue that explains what might be happening. If your lucky, a C&D will work, otherwise, it might be a bad crypto chip according to the other thread.
Here is how to do a Clear and Delete: Menu-Tivo Messages & Setup-Restart or Reset System-Clear and delete everything.
