restore backup image using a Mac?

I upgraded my DTivo with a 2nd drive a few years ago; today it's stuck at the powering up screen, so I think I need to restore the original image (tivo.bak file).

My question--are there any utilities that will do this on a Mac??

No, sorry. You need an Intel PC with real IDE ports (not a laptop).
