Version Troubles

I recently had a hard drive failure due to a power outage. Well actaully it was more like a corruption of the OS. Long story short I gave up and reverted to a backup I made pre-upgrade. The software version was 4.0.

Tivo boots up fine, it was ticked off becuase it thought it hadn't called in since august (when i made the backup) so I forced a call, fixed that problem. Had to run guided setup again becuase the cable company changed, that was annoying becuase I couldn't use the ,#401 trick.. or at least it didn't work.

Tivo appeared to be fine until I went to look at the guide... It was in the old format, so I went to turn it to the TV guide look and it was not a choice... I thought hmm.. oh yeah, that was in a software upgrade. System information confirmed that I was in fact at 4.0 .. no problem I'll just force a few connections and it should get it.. but it doesn't. I also noticed that it still said <name this dvr on tivo.com> for the name...

Perhaps someone with a vaild 4.01 image for a TiVo branded 80hr series 2 would be kind enough to share? Or offer any other advice.. that would be great thanks!

- a few additions... I'm back to the original 80 hour drive with an image that was taken from that drive before upgrading...

I also see after adding this that other people are having similar problems... hmm

Your TiVo should've upgraded automatically. PM TiVoOpsMgr for help with this.

Actually I overlooked the simplest and maybe most obvious solution. I did a clear and delete everything. That seemed to fix it up!
