backup failing

i used mfs tool and hinsdale(how to guide). i used the instructions to mount the drive and try to back it up. everything was going good untill it got to about 12% done and then backup stops and fails. it starts but fails to backup completly. can anyone please help me to fully back up my tivo. i dont know why it just stops. thank you

You're probably mounting the wrong partition.

After you do mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/dos, do ls /mnt/dos (that's LS in lowercase) and check that you see the files you expect to see on your C: drive (like COMMAND.COM and WINDOWS). If you don't see them, umount /mnt/dos to disconnect that partition and repeat, mounting hda2 and hda5 until you find your C: drive. Then the backup should work.
