24 Spoilers

It turns out that the writers at 24 had major plans for hooking up Claudia and Jack. But the producers didn't have Vanessa Ferlito signed to a long term contract. So she accepted a lead role in the movie "Cheer Up" which also stars Tommy Lee Jones. This forced 24's writers to kill off her character.
She will star in CSI New York in the fall.

Seemed like that was the way it was going. Probably a good thing it didn't happen.

Oh thank god - another CSI show.

I can't remember Chase ever telling Jack that Claudia was dead....when did that "reveal" take place?
Carlos Bernard (Tony) was on the radio this morning. After some ribbing for being named one of People's most beautiful people (really?) they talked about the show. Some more "spoilerish" items:
The hiatus was so that production could catch up. They can't crank out the shows fast enough to get them on the air.
This is a good time for newbies to jump in - there will be a big recap tomorrow and then the story will be fairly "self-contained" for the last nine hours.
The writers have a VERY loose outline of the season, but they really do make it up as they go along; nobody on the cast or crew know where the story is going from one episode to the next.
Had to leave for work before the end of the interview so I don't know if he had any specific spoilers for Tony/Michelle. I doubt he'd reveal anything if he knew it and they'll be filming well into April.
If anyone else heard more (107.3 in DC) this morning please add...

This is just as I suspected. The lack of continuity from one section of the "day" to the next make it fairly obvious that the writers and producers don't sit down before the start of the season and sketch out the overall story.
For example, the original plot this year was that the virus had already been unleashed in LA and that Kyle Singer was the carrier. However, since they didn't plan out the plots very well, it soon became obvious that going in that direction would lead to a dead end long before 24 hours was up. So they came up with a cop-out explanation for the first several hours and completely abandoned that premise.
Another example is the president's girlfriend, her ex-husband, and some supposedly explosive revelation by the ex that should have damaged the president politically. The president bailed right in the middle of a televised debate without any explanation to the American people and then after a few superficial mentions and the suicide of the ex-husband, that whole setup was left by the wayside.
I used to love this show. The first season was brilliant, and most of the second season was good too (except for the cougar). However, it's become apparent that the writers don't know what they are doing this year and unless they make some wholesale changes this offseason, I hope the show doesn't get renewed. If they continue in the direction they are heading, any future seasons of this show will simply tarnish the brilliant idea that played out so well in the first season.

No wonder it sucks if they are writing it as they go along. If they can't write a decent plot-line out in the relative calm of non-filming, who would think they could do it week to week?
I was a huge fan of Seasons 1 and 2. But this season has bored me. Every plot line that has come before is essentially over with the death of the character involved. And it's cartoonishly absurd. There are dozens of examples of that, but Nina taking out half of CTI while she's gushing blood out of her carotid artery may be the winner.
I'll probably finish the season but I'm doubtful of starting on the next one. I sometimes decide to stop reading a book, but I usually make that decision pretty early on. What ticks me off about 24 is the investment of time. I should have realized at, oh, about the Tony getting wounded and Jack inciting a prison riot stage that this season was a train wreck and gotten out.

Bingo! I loved the 1st 2 seasons but this season I gave up after 3 episodes and just track here now and then out of habit. Too bad, because I love Kiefer Sutherland (in a manly man sorta way). The President (Haisbert, another good actor) and his crew got boring as did the rest of the cast. A poorly crafted storyline where the new feel has worn off and the poor threads are showing through.

Is that keycard ever going to get analyzed?

As I recall, Hector called Ramon and Jack to tell them she was dead when they were in the cabin after Jack subdued Nina. She seemed to notice the pain in Jack's eyes when he heard this, but I don't think she used this against Jack.
