THE Simpson 3/28

what did you think of the Simpson's last night?

Posted by: holee

It was a lot better than last week's (which I thought was pretty bad, but I was outvoted). But it petered off near the end.

I liked it. Quite a few good Homer quotes in this one, and the SMG voiceover was unique, too.

"Why do you want to work here?"
"Because I believe the children are our future... and we must CRUSH them!"

how about:

"Sir! Other customers want to use the dressing room!"
Homer:"Dressing Room? Uhh, ohh."

Why isnt bart Cursing anymore?

It was better then last weeks, but i think they would do better if they where 45 min long.

This year has seen a lot of extremely funny moments, homer in the dressing room has to rank up there all time, but the shows don't quite come together as a whole...

I totally agree with you about last weeks episode. I just couldn't find much humor in the major plotline.

This week's episode was much better. I liked the part when the girl showed Bart why they would believe her and not him. "Because I can do this" (she starts to squeeze out some tears).

That line just seemed so forced.

What was it that Wiggum said afterwords, "Your eyes need diapers? Yeah, thats a good one Ralphie", I got that impression that it was said sarcastically, as if Ralphs only job now it to put out one liners and everyone just humors him.

What an odd episode. Bart goes to juvvy? Will the experience change his character, or should we just expect the reset button to be pushed (as usual) after this episode?

It seemed like the episode was unusually mature-themed. Wiggum seemed strangely competent (though not in that he doesn't avoid the bear mauling); staging a fake wedding doesn't seem like a crime to go to jail for, but I guess it's fraud if you do it just for the gifts (why wouldn't Milhouse also be charged as an accomplice?); Cletus was pretty funny; Homer and Lisa were unusually quiet or not present; I laughed at the firemen extracting Bart from Marge's arms and at Marge for being worried about the children of her beauty-eating monster.

The Simpsons just hasn't been good for me this year. I'm thinking about getting rid of my SP.

I believe the quote went something more like: "I believe that the children are our future, unless we stop them now!"

I deleted this episode right after watching it. Conversely, the eps w/ Homer as the robot, where Marge rights a novel, where Marge re-tells classic stories, and where Maggie is thought to be a genius, remain on one of my TiVos. The last two, IMO, came nowhere close to these.
