I wish this wasn't cancelled. This show, like many in its 3rd season, was just hitting it's stride. I read online that Isaak decided he did not want to do the show anymore, so good for him but bad for us that loved the show!

I hadn't read that it was canceled, but presumed it was based on the finale. Too bad, but it's better it left when it did than drag out into something sad, like so many other shows do.

Was it cancelled, or did Isaak decline to do additional season(s), or was it mutual?

Almost definitely a case of "too much effort for too little return" on the part of Isaak and the band.

Not a big priority for Showtime, as they sat on the third season for at least nine months.

IMHO, the failure of the "repurposing" on VH1 was probably the death knell for all concerned.
