West Wing on Bravo - Assassination Attempt
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Just finished watching the assassination attempt episode "In the Shadow of Two Gunmen" and all I can say is "Where has this show been all my life?" I was bummed when Bravo ran out of episodes at Chloe's kidnapping and had to start over from the pilot, but now I'm thrilled I've been able to see how it all started.
Just about every scene in "Two Gunmen" was hair-raising.
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
The scene in the limo with the Secret Service agent, where they didn't yet know President Bartlett had been hit, gave me chills. The president's remark "if I don't see my daughter soon, I'm going to attack someone..." Same thing. Just incredible TV.
I've heard the current season isn't as good for some reason, but I can't get enough of it. And does anybody have any advice on when I'll see how Chloe's kidnapping was resolved, without reading it here first!? I believe in another thread, someone said that was at the beginning of this current season. Does anyone know when those reruns will start?
Anyone else just discovering this now mature show as if it's brand new?

The kidnapping of Chloe was in last season's (Season 4) finale. That plotline was resolved in the first few episodes of Season 5 as I'm sure you could guess. Based on when Bravo started started airing Season 4, I would guess it will be later this year when they begin airing Season 5.
The first two seasons were by far the best, IMO, and I enjoy watching them again on Bravo.
BTW Echo, don't miss the next two episodes (The first two of Season 2). They give some fascinating background on each of the characters and how they came to work in the Bartlett Administration.

Yes, the two parts of "In the Shadow of Two Gunmen" were some prime episodes.
As for Chloe's kidnapping, it was "resolved" in the second episode of season 5. No word yet on when Bravo will air these episodes, though I guess shortly after season 6 starts to air on NBC.

Incidentally, her name is Zoey. Not Chloe.

Regarding the limo scene, the same thing basically happened in real life when Regan was shot. I have my doubts though, as to that limo making an e-brake u-turn the way the West Wing limo did...

Good point, Jonathan_S.

I agree - I thought that that series of episodes were very well done on all parts (writing and acting).
One thing - wouldn't the Secret Service agent have checked out the President ASAP... instead of waiting until he saw the blood around his mouth?

That is exactly how it happened with Regan. Regan told the Secret Service that he thought he had bit his lip or tongue during the shooting, but the blood was far more than that would resulted from a bite. The agent checked Regan and found the wound just around his armpit, not easily seen. Regan, IIRC, did not have significant bleeding externally.

Actually, Regan was checked by the agent in the car and couldn't find any bullet hole. Since it was in the thorax mid-axillary, no blood was coming out (a small caliber bullet too). So they took him to the hospital for possible broken ribs from being shoved in the car, but a trauma assesment by the attending found an entrance would right under the armpit.

Actually I saw a show on Discovery or something where they showed the SS limo training.
They had the 'older' limos there. They showed how they took a sedan and taught the agents the move then they practiced on the old limos.
They can definatly pull an ebrake spin, definatly an  move

A while back I saw an old episode on Bravo where Bartlet was talking to Zoey about secret service protection and he described a scene to her in which she was taken and an agent was down. It was described almost EXACTLY how she was taken.
Does anyone know the name of this ep. ?
While watching it I was like HOLY $#!T. The writers outdid themselves to use something like that which had to be at least 2 years before the actual kidnapping storyline took place.

That was exactly my same thoughts when I saw it.
As for the epsiode, I believe that it was Season 1; somewhere between "Lord John Marbury" (Epsidoe 11, where Charlie asks the President for permission to take Zoey) and "20 Hours in LA" (Episode 16, where Zoey has her protection).
