David, the forum is behaving very sluggishly today.

Reminds me of some time in the past where you'd found some server issue -- like a log file being over a certain size... I don't quite recall exactly. But the feeling is familiar. ;)

Found what I was remembering:

Gee Doug, you couldn't have added that little piece of info to the first post?

Now I know how you get your post count up so quickly. :D

I'm sure David will give us some info about why things seem a little sluggish today.

I don't like adding content by editing a post. I'll use the edit to correct something, but new content I want to be clear that it's new.

OK, only a minute passed, but it seemed longer since the forums were so sluggish. ;)

I am sorry to say I really do not see a slowdown with the server...

It wasn't a slowdown in that sense... it was that there was this lag whenever clicking on a link. It's been a little snappier in the last few hours, but early this afternoon was pretty bad, and at the same time AVSForum was just like normal. Were it not for AVSForum not showing the same issue, I'd have just suspected internet connectivity delays. Others started a thread in Happy Hour on the subject, so it wasn't just me seeing the problem.

FWIW, this afternoon it was like molasses. As of now it seems to have recovered.

I didn't look at user loading on the front screen, but there didn't seem to be much posting going on. That wouldn't give any clue to readership though.

David-

This is just to add another voice confirming what others have said -- the forum was VERY slow to respond during the mid-afternoon.

Thanks all. I really could not find any issues with the server so I am not really sure what it was. But as long as it is well now. ;)

I experienced it too, but I also experienced it with Yahoo's Small Business Server and Livejournal (always lagging tho)

So I wrote it off as just an internet thang, didnt look at any of the health reports though to see if there was a router or backbone link down someplace.
