I have TIVO 80 hour Series 2 (2400.80 or something like that) I want to upgrade to 512 mb ram and run linux to browse the web, receive email and if possible install oracle9i. Is this doable? How do I go about it?. I believe this is nothing against the law as the tivo is a linux pc and I want to know how best to use it. I am new to all of this and any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Raj

Why would you want to do that. I mean you cannot even hook a mouse or keyboard up to it. I would build another computer to do what you need it to do.
I remember someone asking the same question a while ago and if i remember correctly the final answer is why bother.

Max RAM is 32Mb. CPU is a 200MHz MIPS. UDMA/33 IDE bus. No network card. No graphics card. No VGA output.
The Series 1 TiVoes don't have an FPU. I don't know if the Series 2 CPU has the same limitation, but if it does, that may be a serious problem.
Is Oracle even available for the MIPS architecture?
I bet you could get a much better PC for $100 or so second-hand that would beat those numbers by up to an order of magnitude.
