This is probably a very dumb question but.....

how can I convert a Windows Media Audio File to MP3 ? Do I need certain software to do this ?

Sorry - meant to post this in UK General Chit Chat.

Can a mod move this please.

It's a little long-winded, but you could use JetAudio to convert the WMA to a WAV and then an MP3 encoder such as LAME (with, say, RazorLAME front-end) to convert to MP3.

Told ya it was long-winded :D Don't know of any direct WMA-to-MP3 converter.

EDIT: Found one! Google Is Your Friend :) http://www.wma-mp3.com/

TotalRecorder is another good option.

You might also want to try dbPowerAmp Music Converter - http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm. Converts anything to anything (you may have to download extra codecs) and it's freeware.
