Anyone else disappointed with the Clone Was cartoon series (spoilers?)

Now that I've seen all 20 eps of Clone Wars, I have to say, so what? What did we learn?
Not much.
I realize that Lucas has rules about developing certain stories, but nothing interesting happened.
The money machine goes on...

I have no idea what the Clone Was cartoon is?
You may want to edit the title. :D

I was disappointed mostly with the art. With something like Star Wars, you think they could hire better animators.

The guy who did Samurai Jack, Gennedy Tartakovsky, did this as well. I think that's just his style, love it or hate it. It grew on me after awhile. I wanted to see them wrap up the thread with the super robot.

I liked the series, my only complaint is that it was so short. The two eps with Mace Windu were great at showing how badass he is.
As for the style, I've been a fan of Gennady Tartakovsky ever since the first ep of Power Puff Girls (I like the way he animates action).
The overall feel of the series reminds me of the original movie trilogy (which I prefer over the more recent movies).

I thought it was pretty good, better than I expected actually. There was nothing earth shattering, but we saw a little more of the backstory in how Sidious is playing puppets with Dooku and Anakin. I don't really see what Durge was doing, but the introduction of Grievous was pretty cool.
My main complaint with the look of the story is the lousy video quality of Cartoon Network on my cable system. Like Thaed, the style grew on me (I even picked up a couple of the better action figures at Target, just for the heck of it.)

I loved it. Even though each one was only 3 minutes, they crammed a lot of action in there.
Seeing Mace and Yoda in action was great... seeing the diversity of Jedis was great... seeing the Clone Troopers on the side of good was great... and Durge, Asaijj and Grievus were welcome additions to the SW universe.

I Tivo'd the marathon over the weekend and now have all 20 episodes. I'm going to archive to DVD (but thru cables, I haven't hacked my Tivo). My question is: will there be more? If so, I'll just save the captured clips and wait. If not, if this is all there will be, then I'm going to make a DVD with menus and such. Anyone know what the future plans are?

There have been no mentions of any additional episodes.

I watched all 20 in a row last night.
I liked it, although I don't think we'll see the Jedi in episode III quite up to par with their animated namesakes.
I kind of wonder about the timing, it seems this would been better if it aired this Fall, and next spring, because we still have a year left til episode III.
Which voices were the same, was Anthony Daniels playing 3PO, it sounded like it. I don't know if anybody else was the same.

I'm withholding full judgment on the series until I can see it in a full, uninterrupted version on DVD.
Until then, I will say that I thought the series was good, but not great. I loved how they actually showed Jedi the way they were meant... doing cool Jedi things to help defend the Galaxy and showing their full usage of The Force, rather than whining about how awful it is being a Jedi and talking about politics.
My biggest complaint right now is that, for a series titled "Clone Wars", it didn't feel epic enough. The Clone Wars were supposed to be a huge series of battles so massive in scale that they devastated the galaxy and left many planets in shambles. We saw about 5 planets, and nothing else. And considering the likelihood that Episode 3 won't show much of the action going on in the Clone Wars, that just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Eh. I watched the first ten when they aired, and figured I'll pull in the next. After the 11th episode, I began watching them at speed just for anything interesting.
When all a series can offer is one unique bit of fun - Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
the Jedi removing all the bolts from a robot with a wave of his hand
it's tough for me to look forward to any future eps.

I thought it was awesome. The animation was great and the stories were very good at filling in some plot holes. I agree with Skittles, it was not quite "Clone Wars", more like "jedi wars". But great none the less.
And to see Grevous at the end was amazing. Bring on Ep 3!

The problem is that they couldn't hit any major plot points, and that's what people really wanted to see.

Yes, that was Anthony Daniels. In the voice-commentaries (on CartoonNetwork.com and StarWars.com) they talk about working with him.
Many of the sounds (most mentioned were the jungle sounds of the moon of Yavin) were straight from the Lucasfilm vault. I believe Artoo's sounds were authentic too.
The end of chapter 20 does list all the voice actors - I think Anthony was the only original.

I actually liked it, and didn't mind the animation. Heck, beats the old Hanna Barbara look we would've gotten back when the originals came out :D Like the ewok cartoon....

I watched the 11-20 and thought, this is what we should have seen in the movies. Boil down TPM to 15 minutes, re-edit into TCW and call it EP I, Then make EP II really about TCW.....

Face it, there's no way they can do justice to the clone wars. They were happening all over the galaxy, and unless you want 2 1/2 hours of just clone wars, and then another movie on top of that, we're lucky to get this much.
I thought they should have gotten rid of the individual chapter markers in the airings that had more than 1 episode. That was kind of stupid.

I'm finally watching S2 now. It's not bad but a ship whose main weapon is a big hammer that slams into the ground? It seems like an awful lot of money went into building what's essentially a big anvil. The end where the kid gives the drink to Samuel L Jackson reminds me of that NFL Coke commercial.
Plus the Jedi are way too powerful in this cartoon when compared to the film.
Yoda needs a bad British accent. Everyone else does. Or at least the ability to form proper sentences. You'd think a 1,000 year old Jedi master knows where to place nouns.

Hey, now. Yoda is just 880 years old (or so).

When 900 years old you reach, talk as well you will not.

As others have implied, that loose end was deliberate. Grievous appears in Episode III, and Clone Wars sets that up.
