i thought the ep was great. this show was boring to me at first but now everything is kicking in. lots of things are happening. the preview for next week looks like a great one!
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
what will lucas do about brooke being pregnant? what i also like about this show is they show real world problems. not everything is perfect. teen pregnancy does happen alot these days. it'll be interesting to see how things pan out from here.

Yeah, pretty good show. I was really surprised by the very ending. OTH is good at that; the last scene being a shocker. Actually, the last couple of scenes were surprising.

The entire episode kept you guessing.
My prediction for Brook and Lucas:
After some serious drama and decisions making, Brook will loose the baby. But insights into character and moral fiber will have lasting effects.
I still would like to see Keith and Karen hook up.

I doubt the baby belongs to Lucas; I think the previews from next week's episode are intentionally misleading on that subject.
Remember in this episode Brook was confronted by the guy standing at the bar and she was completely clueless that she had met him or done anything with him before. And I think that's the indication that Brook realizes that she got pregant during one of these "out of it" periods. She knew that night she might be pregant. And the realization of how and that it really could be true hit her when the guy told her they'd done this before.
(and you meant "lose" not "loose" :D )

Maybe I was just thinking how loose Brook has been recently... :D
Good plot point Doug. The previews certainly make it look like Lucas is getting blamed, or accepting responsibility. After seeing how Brook was with Mouth, and all those deep looks when he was talking about Lucas, I think we're led to believe that she wouldn't deliberately put him through this, if she didn't think he was the father.

Possibly. Though I think the "blackout dates" Brooke had will play into this more later, even if they go the Lucas route for now.
I forget now what exactly transpired vis-a-vis Keith during the episode where Lucas was having sex and Keith confronted him about it and went into a condom usage/safe sexs lecture or something similar. Didn't Lucas assure him of something then? Might have to go re-watch that episode and refresh my memory.

Not me, he's too.....something I don't like about him. I find Peyton's dad more engaging and the scenes between him and Karen are more lively then they've ever been with Keith.
Doug's insight into the nightclub scene with Brooke adds a new dimension on what might be going on. I never thought along those lines, but I bet that in a later episode (assuming the baby isn't lost or no abortion) that it will be discovered Lucas is not the father.
Now thinking along these lines, my interpretation of Brooke's discussions with "mouth" about Lucas is that she was trying to determine if she can lean on him during this pregnancy, not knowing if the baby is his or not. In other words, she might be trying to lay this on him because he would be the best choice for a father.
