Best way to record NFL games?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

If I want to record all of the {insert your NFL team of choice here} games is a Wishlist the way to go? Or are the games identifiable in a way that you can do a Season Pass for a particular team?

Bunsen out....

I go the wishlist route, if I just choose a sp for NFL football I'm likely to infect my TV with a Jet game http://forums.evilnet.net/ubb/smilies/pukeface.gif

Should be able to just create a wishlist for Sports|NFL| and a keyword for your team. We have one for the Red Wings setup like this: Sports | Hockey | "Red Wings" and it catches all the games. We actually changed it to be a generic keyword of "Red Wings" and it now catches pre-game shows, weekly highlight shows, etc. (when the season starts again of course).

Good luck.

I think you may need to use the plural form, but NFLnut should know. I recently set up a WL for "Denver Broncos" Sports Football and it scheduled the preseason game coming up with Dallas. Of course, every night it also records something called "Bronco Training Camp Updates" that covers the day's events at training camp (like if one of the third string players' next door neighbor's kid gets chicken pox). You can't tell me that Denver doesn't support its sports teams.

By the way, you should also consider a pad for the end of the game. It is disturbing to be catching up to live and realize that the game is likely to run over. You end up seeing the score while you are fooling around with recording the next show.

To answer the second part of you question, even if your teams games were identifiable as a series separate from other NFL games (I belive that they are) you would still have the problem that a season pass would not pick up the games that were broadcast on a different network (i.e. the night games and some out of conference games).

You could try adding "at" to your keyword search. All games should have that in their title/description, but most non-game shows don't.

Does this mean that Tribune is FINALLY going to list the NFL Sunday Ticket lineup?

Or is TiVo's Christmas commercial about "Tell TiVo your favorite team" still bullsh*t?

"...who's out there?"

P.S. - I guess it would be understandable if Tribune is not able to add NFLST info, after all, it was only published 4 months ago...

My question is, why do they have to show the "local team" games on Fox and CBS? I'd rather watch about any game than see the Dallas Cowboys lose again.

Warning: old joke ahead.

This couple who had a 6-year old child was getting a divorce. At the divorce hearing, the judge asked the child "Son, would you like to live with your Mom?" And the kid says "No, my Mom beats me." So the judge asks "Well, would you like to lve with your Dad?" And the kid says, "No, he beats me too." The judge asks "Hmmm...who would you like to live with then?" The kid replies "I'd like to live with the Dallas Cowboys, 'cause they never beat anybody!"

Just wait till next year, and then you'll be seeing Houston lose instead. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

The TV rules are a major reason I'm glad L.A. doesn't have an NFL team. It makes it more likely that they'll show the Bucs on TV here.

The penalty for living in a place that has 2 teams is that we usually are excluded from "doubleheaders". It sucks when they say "most of you will see <insert great matchup> and then you're switched to a rerun of friends or Seinfeld. The only football option is to change channels and watch a Jet game http://forums.evilnet.net/ubb/smilies/pukeface.gif (I'm a Giant fan and season ticket holder http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/wink.gif )
