Dish local channels question

I have the series two 80 hr, TiVo and have been using Dish with it and a antenna for local channels. Now that we can receive local channels with Dish, albeit just NBC, PBS and ABC for now, we went ahead and signed up. Dish came out and installed the super dish, got it setup but I cannot get TiVo to recognize the local channels in the guide.

It will just show the antenna local channels in the guide. However, in the Dish guide, it shows the NBC, PBS and ABC???

We would like to keep the antenna hooked up for local channels too just in case the satellite goes out during bad weather. Our antenna is flaky at times and that is the reason we went with Dish for locals.

I did a restart with TiVo and also downloaded the guide for updates. Still will not show the Dish locals.

What am I missing here. Thanks.

It might not be on the listings for tribune yet. Check to see if your local dish listings are on www.zap2it.com

I just checked and yes it is listed.

It may take a while too for TiVo to know that Tribune has the change, and i forgot the link for channel line up changes.

I just sent TiVo Customer Support an email on the missing channels via a report for their Lineup Specialists.

It takes upto five days for an answer.

Are the channels present and enabled in "channels I receive"?

No, the channels are not listed in the guide (satillite ones) to be enabled, only the antenna ones are listed.

We have that antenna (RS) but not on top of the house but on a SIXTY foot pole and the reception is still flaky at times.

BTW, our old Phillips TiVo shows the ABC satillite but it says "to be announced". You can't record anything on it. No NBC or PBS. On our other Series 2 TiVio, it does not show anything on the ABC, NBC or PBS Satillite.

You know that your Dish local chanels are remapped up in the 8000 channel range right? Since you are using antenna also, TiVo will not use their normal channel numbers.

Here's the most complete Dish channel list I have ever seen.

Thanks Andy. I just got off the phone with TiVo and what I failed to do was a complete restart and reset and then picking the Jefferson City Dish Satellite instead of the National Dish . Once I did that, it picked up the local channels showing both Channel 8's, one antenna and the other satellite. Same thing for ABC which is 17 and PBS which is 6.

OK, not I understand. You should be eligible for nationals b/c you are so far out, but i guess they give you whatever locals you want that you are in the spot-beam of. :D:D:D That antenna must look reallly cool!!!!
